James pushed open the front door, humming a tune under his breath as he stepped inside his home. The scent of his own stale air hit him, and he immediately felt a sense of relief wash over him. After a long day of attempting to woo Ella, he was ready to unwind. He glanced around, expecting to find his usual solitude, but as he stepped further into the living room, a chill ran down his spine.

The room was dark, and a sense of foreboding settled in the air. James flicked on the light, squinting against the brightness, and froze at the sight before him. Sitting on his couch, casually leaning back with a cold, piercing gaze, was Lucien. The man radiated an intensity that filled the space like an electric current.

“Lucien,” James said, forcing a casual tone despite the way his heart raced. “What are you doing in my house?”

Lucien’s expression was unyielding, his lips curling into a thin smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “We need to talk, James.”

James took a step back, suddenly aware of the atmosphere in the room. Behind Lucien, he spotted Emilio and the other men, their expressions serious and their stances ready for confrontation. It was clear this wasn’t a friendly visit.

“What’s this about?” James asked, trying to maintain his composure. “I didn’t invite you in.”

“Consider this a courtesy,” Lucien replied, his voice smooth yet laced with a dangerous edge. “You’ve been causing quite a bit of concern for my—friend. Ella is not someone to be toyed with.”

James’s brow furrowed in confusion and defiance. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Ella is just a girl. We were getting to know each other.”

Lucien’s gaze sharpened, and he leaned forward slightly, the air growing thick with tension. “You think this is just some game? You’re obsessed with her, and it’s time you understood the consequences of your actions.”

James straightened, his bravado returning in full force. “You don’t know what you’re talking about. I have a right to pursue who I want.”

“You think you have rights?” Lucien’s voice dropped to a low, threatening whisper. “You have no idea what I am capable of. This is your final warning, James. Leave Ella alone. If you don’t, I’ll ensure you regret it.”

Emilio stepped forward, crossing his arms as he glared at James. “You’ve crossed a line. If we find any more evidence of you stalking her, it won’t just be Lucien you’ll have to worry about. We all have a vested interest in keeping her safe.”

James’s bravado wavered as he glanced at the men surrounding him. The reality of the situation began to sink in. They weren’t here to play nice; they were here to intimidate him into submission. He took a deep breath, trying to mask his fear with anger.

“Fine,” he said, forcing a laugh. “You think you can scare me? I won’t be pushed around by you or anyone else.”

Lucien’s expression darkened, his patience thinning. “You may think this is a joke, but I assure you, it’s very real. Keep your distance, or I will take measures you cannot even begin to comprehend.”

The tension hung heavy in the air as Lucien stood, his tall figure imposing. He stepped closer to James, their faces inches apart, and James could feel the intensity radiating from him.

“Do we understand each other?” Lucien asked, his tone deceptively calm.

James swallowed hard, the bravado slipping from his grasp as he nodded slowly. “Yeah, I get it.”

“Good,” Lucien replied, straightening up. “Now, get your things in order. I don’t want to see you near her again. If you do, it won’t just be a conversation next time.”
