Sleepover

((Y/N)'s POV)

"So that's why I like Tyler, Riley would probably be my next ideal guy to date but he's a bit too smart for me," Shelby rants, painting my nails and beautiful (F/C). I was having a sleepover with her since we haven't been able to spend much time with each other recently. She had been invited to go on digs with Chase and Koda finally, only took 2 years of begging, and some new people joined the team too. Tyler and Riley arrived with Shelby the day after she was allowed to take part in the dig. Tyler was very proudly showing off his uniform, probably the only person I've ever met who loves uniforms. Riley was rather indifferent about everything but that didn't mean he doesn't care, he cares in his own way and prefers to think more logically. His nerdy self had slowly grown on me and I found myself listening to every word he said, even when he was explaining the simplest things. It was strangely captivating how I would hang on to his every word, or at least it was till my dad, who is Jayden Shiba, told me what I was likely feeling. He then proceeded to interrogate me about Riley in the usual protective dad way. Fortunately he was busy fighting bad guys to give me the full interrogation and come down to meet Riley himself.

"Well it's all a matter of opinion, my crush actually is Riley so can you keep giving goo-goo eyes at Tyler please?" I reply with a teasing smile. "You like Riley?" Shelby asks, shocked. "Yeah, please don't tell him I know what you're like," I reply with a bashful smile. I go to scratch the back of my neck but catch myself, the nail polish was still wet and I didn't want to ruin it. "T-That's great, I'll continue giving Tyler - HEY!" Shelby yells in offence, it seems she was in deep thought before realising what I said. I laugh loudly at her offended face. "I do not make goo-goo eyes at him!" Shelby exclaims in mock hurt. "So you haven't batted your eyelashes at him, leaned closer to him, immediately tried to join him on most things he was going to do alone, stare after him when he walks out the room?" I question with a teasing smile. "Okay, maybe I make goo-goo eyes at him. Can you blame me, he's so cute!" Shelby relents, a little unamused. "Why were you so lost in thought when I mentioned having a crush on Riley?" I ask, suddenly turning the topic into a serious one. "Ah, it's nothing, don't worry about it," Shelby says quickly, worry laced in her voice. I tilt my head in confusion but decide to let it go, perhaps she knows something about him that he doesn't want shared.

(Fury's POV)

I can't believe I, of all monsters, was tasked with spying on these wretched rangers. I should be fighting, not spying! There's the green ranger, he is staring at that female over there with the (H/C) hair, maybe spying is useful afterall! I have to tell Sledge the green ranger has himself a crush, that means he has an easy weakness cause she's not a ranger!

((Y/N)'s POV)

"How was the sleepover with Shelby?" Riley asks me, helping me unload the truck filled with food for the cafe. "Oh you know the usual, Shelby rants, I rant back, we paint each other's nails, watch a movie and fall asleep halfway through," I reply, more focused on moving this heavy box out of the van. "Here let me help you," Riley says, noticing my struggle. He moves to the otherside of the box, helping me lift it onto (). "Thanks, for actually helping me and not taking over the entire unloading. Most of the males here do that when I request for help and you and your friends aren't here," I say honestly, smiling brightly at him with a slight blush on my cheeks. "It's no problem at all, I'll move these boxes into the storage, you got the rest?" he replies with an equally bright smile. "Yup, only got two more left," I state with certainty, waving to him as he wheels the boxes we've just unloaded away.

"You're coming with me!" an angry deep male voice screeches and a pair of hands grabs my arms and twists them behind my back. I stomp my foot onto his foot hard, he screeches and lets go and I make a run for the backdoor, only for a weird Valentine monster to block my path. "Sorry Sweetie but I simply must have those Energems so I can marry Sledgems," she says with mock sadness. The same pair of hands twist my arms behind my back and begins dragging me off, the valentine monster skippin behind happily. "RILEY!" I scream loudly, a gag was swiftly put on after that.

(Riley's POV)

I had just finished unloading the last boxes when I heard (Y/N) scream my name. I run outside quickly, the others close behind and we see (Y/N) being dragged away by Fury and Poissandra. I charge forward but Koda stops me with a bear hug from behind. "Riley no, we need a plan if we're gonna get her back," Shelby reasons desperately. "I have one, Hotshot over there shoots at Fury and Poissandra. They end up letting go of her due to shock and one of us runs in to get her to safety while the others continue fighting them off," I exclaim angrily. "We need to act quickly, she could be beamed up to the ship and then we'll be forced to hand over our Energems," Chase says, clearly agreeing with my plan. "No, Riley I think they took (Y/N) because of your crush on her. They must've noticed and because she screamed for you, it would make sense for you to run after her. You run after her and act like you're helpless to the situation while the rest of us secretly surround them and attack at the same time," Shelby orders, we all nod our heads and rush into action.

((Y/N)'s POV)

I continued kicking and struggling as much as possible, trying to stall them so the rangers could get them. "Stop struggling, the only reason we need you is for an Energem. Doesn't matter what condition you're in so long as you're alive," the big cat yelled angrily. I was thrown to the ground, hitting my head kinda hard so everything was now blurry. "HEY! Let her go!" I hear Riley yells, managing to make out the familiar green sweater. I smile, hopeful that I'll be able to get out of this mess. "I DON'T THINK SO, HAND OVER YOUR ENERGEM AND THEN YOU CAN HAVE HER!" the big cat yells, still angry. He stands in between me and Riley, along with the Valentine monster who begins taunting him for whatever reason. I feel a pair of arms gently slide under me and hoist me up into a bridal position. "No worry, it's me, Koda," I hear Koda say and smile, relieved. He starts running off somewhere, before I can see where we're going I black out.

(Riley's POV)

After the fight with Fury we all head back to the base where Kendall is patching up (Y/N)'s head injury. I swiftly take a seat on the opposite side of Kendall, holding (Y/N)'s hand tightly while deep in thought. "She's in danger now they know about her," Keeper points out, in his usual wise tone. "I know, but I can't let her get hurt like that again," I reply sadly but determined. "The best way you can protect her is by telling her the truth, that way she'll know to be more wary and where to hide when there are monsters about," Keeper advises before disappearing off somewhere in the base. "Will she be okay?2 Shelby asks somewhat hesitantly. "She'll have a headache when she wakes up and be a bit disoriented but thankfully it's nothing serious," Kendall reassures, looking at me when she answers Shelby's question. "So what are you gonna do Riley?" Chase asks seriously, one of the few moments he is. "I'm gonna tell her the truth," I answer like it's the most obvious thing in the world. "Are you going to include how you feel about her?" Shelby asks, in a teasing manner. "I guess I could," I reply bashfully. "Well then, we have a cafe that still needs attending to," Chase pipes up again, ushering everyone out whilst giving me a smirk. I roll my eyes but smile in appreciation as Kendall finishes patching her up and also disappears somewhere in the museum.

((Y/N)'s POV)

Pain was the first thing I felt when I started regaining consciousness. A pounding in my head that seemed like it would never ease, banging against my skull repeatedly as I slowly opened my eyes. The pain increased greatly before subsiding, I think it was because I had something else to focus on though. Such as the cute sleeping male beside me holding my hand in a vice like grip. I brush my thumb back and forth lightly with a soft smile on my face. It seems to rouse him from his sleep as he slowly blinks his eyes open to look at me.

It takes him a couple seconds to realise I'm awake but when he does he instantly starts asking if I'm alright. "I'm fine, got a massive headache but otherwise fine," I quickly reassure. "Thank goodness, I'll get you some painkillers," Riley says, rushing off to a cabinet in the corner of the room. "Riley, why'd they keep demanding that you hand over an Energem," I ask when he comes back with some pills and a glass of water. I swallow the pills as Riley begins explaining everything, it took me a while to fully process the information but I still had one query.

"Why was I dragged into this though?" I ask, tilting my head with a frown. "Because Fury noticed how I felt about you," Riley replies, somewhat vaguely and quietly. "What do you mean?" I question, trying to get a straight answer. "I like you a lot (Y/N), as in I love you and would like to ask if you would be my girlfriend?" Riley explains, blushing and looking down at his hands. I feel heat rise to my cheeks and also look down to my fidgeting hands. "Riley, I like you too and would love to be your girlfriend," I say, stuttering a bit as I answer. Riley grins at me softly before leaning in and kissing me.
