Chapter 7

The awkward tension was eating her alive. She needed to talk to someone. Kylie. She finds Kylie by the car talking to Malia. She walks up to them. "Hey Rube!" "Hey Ruby!" "Hey guys, i hate to interrupt but Ky, can i talk to you for a second?" Kylie looks at her and nods. "Of course, Rube. I'll catch up with you." She tells Malia bye and walks with Ruby. "Everything ok?" She asks.

Ruby sighs. "Uh, no. Not really. You remember my birthday?" She asks. "Yeah." Kylie nods. "You remember how Mel kissed me?" "Yeah." "Well, things have kind of escalated since then...." Kylie squints her eyes at her as she smiles. "How?" Ruby groans. "I had sex last night." Kylie squeals. "Sh!" "I knew it! I knew that was something going between you two!" Ruby sighs. "Not anymore, apparently." "What do you mean? What happened?" She bites her lip. She has to tread very lightly, Kylie does not take people hurting her friends lightly. Even if Mel is one of her friends. "When i woke up this morning....she was gone...." "Excuse me?!" "But but! She came in with breakfast and tried to comfort me when i was crying. I told why i was crying and she's been weird ever since." "What do you mean weird?" Kylie asks. "I don't know, she acts like it didn't mean anything." Ruby shrugs.

Kylie takes time to process all this information. "Damn, and here i thought i knew Mel. How dare she?! Fucking bitch! I can't she's our manager. Where is she?!" Kylie looks around. "No, Kylie no!" "There she is!" "No, no, Kylie!" She tries to grab but she was too fast. "Shut up, Lia! That was not me!" "That was so you!" "Mel?!" Kylie shouts. Mel turns to her. "Uh yeah?" "I need to talk to you!" "About?" "You know what about!" Mel quickly stands. "Lower your voice. There are people around." She warns. "I don't care! How fucking dare you! You spend the night with Ruby and then leave her in the morning?!" Mel glances between her and Ruby. "Kylie she-" "And don't even start with the breakfast! You were probably planning on pretending the whole thing didn't happen and you felt guilty afterwards so you tried to buy her forgiveness with food! Is that what you do? Sleep with girls, buy them breakfast or dinner to make up for it and pretend it never happened?! That you'll never see them again?! Well too bad, Melody!" "Kylie-" "No! You're no better than some man, aren't you?! You fuck em and then leave em in the morning?! You know what?! I want a new manager! And i demand you get assign a new one for Ruby too! Clearly you've been compromised. Is this what you do sign new artist and sleep with them? Was the music industry not enough for you?! You had to go into the acting industry too?! You're a slut Mel! A fucking asshole!" Kylie breathes heavily.

"Are you done?" Mel asks softly. "No." Kylie slaps her across the face as everyone gasps. "Kylie!" Ruby grabs her arm. "That's enough." She whispered. "Well? What do you have to say for yourself?!" Mel slowly looks up as she flips her hair out of her face. "You're wrong, Ky." "Don't call me that. You lost that right." Mel sighs. "Well, regardless, you're wrong. I woke up before Ruby this morning. Yes i left her. To go get breakfast for us both. I came back and she was crying. I don't know why she thought i would ever leave her after that." She glances at Ruby. "When she calmed down, i told her that i would never do that to her." "But you still slept with her." Kylie cuts in. "She didn't touch me. I didn't let her." Kylie glances between her and Ruby. "What do you mean?" "I had sex with her, yes. If you can call it that. If you wanna get technical, i pleasured her. I didn't let her touch me, I didn't care about that stuff. I was more focussed on her because i knew it was her first time. I knew she didn't know what she was doing so I didn't want her to stress about having to take care of me. So while i did have sex with her, i gained absolutely no pleasure from it whatsoever. When i left this morning, i left to go get breakfast for the both of us. When i came back, she was crying."

Mel looks over at Ruby. "The fact that you would even think that i would do that to you Rube, to anyone. That's fucked up. That's low. You've known me for ten years, thirteen for you Kylie, and if you two can think that i would ever do that to anyone, let alone you, Ruby. Maybe you don't actually know me at all. Maybe we don't know each other. If you don't want me as your manager, fine. I'll reassign you a new one, effective immediately. Now everyone, get in the fucking car." She takes her phone out and walks off. Kylie and Ruby are left stunned as everyone else was speechless. They had no idea what was going on. From what they can gather, something went down between Ruby and Mel. "Guys, what was that all about?" Morgan asks. "Uh...." Kylie looks at Ruby. "I think i fucked up...." Ruby whispered.
