Amber, James, and I are heading to meet the rest of the group in Freezenberg for the cake tasting. Even under the circumstances, I'm excited.

Amber and Clio are coming to help even though they aren't getting married. When we walk up, Axel, Hugo, and Zandar are playing some game that James quickly joins. Everyone is here except Vivian. Soon, the royal baker comes out to greet us. "Good afternoon your majesties. Are we ready to begin?"

I'm just about to reply when James blurts out, "My fiancé isn't here yet."

We all turn to look at him as he turns red. "What? She is my fiancé isn't she?" None of us argue. We are saved from the awkwardness of Vivian's arrival.

"Sorry, everyone! We had carriage issues."

"Not to worry." The baker assures. "Please stand with your betrothed and let's get going." We all pair up and Vivian and James are chattering nervously. I'm starting to see what Amber was saying. I am perfectly comfortable with my fiancé. Besides being completely in love with him, I'm also his friend.

We go inside and are immediately greeted with the sweet smell of cake. There are displays of different styles lining the kitchen. In the center, there is a slice of every kind of cake you could imagine. We go couple by couple and try every flavor. Hildegard and Zandar chose a champagne-flavored cake, Vivian and James chose the chocolate cake, Hugo and I chose vanilla, and I think Axel and Astrid are still arguing over what flavor to choose. I can tell Hugo is worried about his brother being married to Astrid. They are always arguing and upset. I know them both separately and they are usually so nice.

I wonder what happened that made them hate each other so much. Only after they settle on lemon cake do we finally make our way to our carriages to leave. We are stopped by all of our parents at the entrance.

What are they doing here? I think. "Hello, children. We've come to tell you something."

"What is it, Mom?" Astrid asks.

"Well, since the events from last night, we have decided to have trials so you can practice ruling together." Queen Draya announces.

"Trials?" Axel asks.

"Yes, there'll be a set of tasks for you to complete to better prepare you to become king and queen and rule with your spouse. These trials will take a total of 3 days and 4 nights, starting tonight. You will spend the night in your future kingdom." King Garrick finishes.
