I scrunched my eyes from the light, trying to lift my hands to rub them but couldn't due to something keeping them down. I kept my eyes shut, groaning in pain from the sting of light as my ears pick up on a very distinct cry.

I sighed and readied myself for the argument of the century as I slowly inch my eyes open, turning my head to the side to look at the wall. I look at Katy and feel my heart clinch at her current state.

She was sitting with her feet up in the chair, her face resting on her knees with her arms wrapped around her legs. Her beautiful hair fell over her shoulder covering her arm and face from my view while sounds of crying softly came from her. "Katy" I whispered softly "I'm ok", I looked at her, inwardly berating myself for hurting her yet again.

"I know you are..." she mumbled looking up at me, her eyes bloodshot and red crying, the pain in them would be visible in anyone's eyes. They were Katy's real eyes not the ones that the people at school are always shining with joy. No, these are the true ones; the ones that show pain, sadness, suffering, not the eyes person who is happy or fine but of one that is broken and trying her hardest every second of every minute to keep it together for just one more day..the eyes of a broken person. I tore my eyes away unable to look at the pain I caused, feeling my eyes welling up with tears.

" I'm sor-" I began to say only for her to cut me off " don't say that...it isn't true" she spoke in a monotone voice. "I saw everything too...the desk was obvious I brought it in, her shirt...the picture..you should have told me" her voice slowly getting quiter to just a whisper. "Katy I didn't wanna hurt you more by showing it to you, I'm sor-" "STOP SAYING THAT!" She screamed "and what was your plan then huh?! Just keep the pain to yourself?!" She hissed at me. "No it was to keep it in the closest to never see the light of day.." I mumbled "yes because that worked so well...and let's not forget you tried to suicide...YOU WANTED TO LEAVE ME!!!" she screamed, more tears streaming down her face. A nurse walked in meekly "um..we have people resting please keep it down or I must ask you to leave" "don't worry I don't wanna be here right now....I can't believe I lov-" she shook her head walking out as I called out to her "KATY PLEASE STAY I'M SORRY I'LL DO ANYTHING" but she just shook her head walking out.

I sat there crying in silence, my thoughts and voices coming back with new malicious intent and I didn't try to stop them or deny it. 'Fuck why does my chest hurt so much' I cried inwardly trying to grip my chest only to be stopped by the arm restraints. I sat there in my miserable my little hell when by some unknown force a thought came to mind, a realization.
