Chapter three

Keely ate another mini sausage as Tay continued to glare in the direction Hallows Queen was standing with her friends. Keely on instinct pulled her away once she saw the cup in Tay's hand and knew it would end up a shit show, dragging her to the buffet.

"After they recovered you from the stream, Chris came to me with the police, you know. Asking me what happened. He 'knew' we were coming because Hayley had 'invited' us that year. I think he was trying to make it look like a tragedy to them rather than for you. Hayley was acting hella weird that night following too." Keely was trying to distract Tay by bringing up Chris's comment from earlier, she was rewarded when Tay shot round to look at her.

"Hallows Queen was acting weird, how?" Keely Stuffed another sausage in her mouth while shrugging.

"I don't know. I don't remember a lot about that night. Apparently she was in shock too, because you know, it was so hard for her." Keely said, rolling her eyes. "Can you eat food?"

Tay looked at her deadpan. "You've seen me eat like twenty sweets already, yes dumbass." Tay picked up a vol-au-vant and shoved it in her mouth to prove a point before choking slightly.

"Carry on. " She tried to say around the mouthful.

"I was sat in one of the ambulances, they gave me one of those shock blankets. And then she just fucking walks up to me, baring in mind, I'm crying my fucking eyes out, snot and saliva dripping situation." Keely paused, looking at Hallows Queen now.

"She had been crying too, and in the weirdest turn of events, said 'I'm sorry'. Like, what the hell you apologising for." Keely whispered 'bitch' under her breath for good measure before taking a swig of alcohol. Tay just looked back over at Hallows Queen, confused.

"She probably felt bad it was her party we were trying to crash."

Keely gave a mock laugh."Yeah, more like she was crying we ruined it."

Tay sighed. "We'd probably be the same if our dad was a rich asshole too."

Keely thought about that. It wasn't the first time they had talked about Hayley's family. Hayleys mum seemed to be the most down to earth, while Chirs's fake smiles and generosity alway made Tay and Keely feel uncomfortable. They had spent enough time around people who knew how to manipulate to recognize it in others. But that was also just your typical politician.

"Do you think that sometimes maybe we hate her too much, like it's unfair too." Keely paused, putting her drink on the table and turning to Tay with her hands on her hips.

"She was a bitch to me, and the biggest towards you Tay. She took every opportunity to laugh at you. Every. Single. Time. Who does that? Bitches, is who."

"Yeah you right. Fuck her." They both turned their back on Hallows Queen before deciding what to eat next. The night was coming along as they had hoped, people were dancing, party games happening all over and gossip of hookups were already circulating, including theres.

"Did you hear that?" Tay shout-whispered.

"What?"

"That ghost with the pink lipstick drawn on was just talking about us! Oh this is fucking brilliant!"

"Fucking tell me then!" Keely laughed, excitedly grabbing hold of Tay.

"They said that 'Keely is here tonight and like, totally left the bathroom having fucked someone. What a shame they had their face covered so we don't know who it is. Can you imagine, oh my gad'." Tay mocked as Keely covered her mouth with her hand in shock.
