(Present Day) Jay's POV

"Do you have everything ready for your trip?" my Aunt Tina asked me, leaning on the doorframe of my room.

I put a few Right On! Magazines in my backpack. "Yeah, I think so. I just can't believe this is happening!"

"Well you can always stay here if you change your mind," she says.

I smile. "No, I'm definitely going. Ti, I haven't seen them in three years!"

"I know, I know, but just don't be surprised if they've changed."

"They couldn't have changed that much."

"I'm just saying..." she says, looking at the clock. "Oh! Look at the time! Hurry up Jay, we're going to be late!"

We get to the airport just in time.

My aunt rubs my shoulders. "Alright then. Have a good time. Do not give Mrs. K any trouble and send them my love," she says.

"I will. Love you!" I say, hugging her. "Take care of yourself!"

She smiles and I run toward the terminal with my suitcases.

Towards happiness.

"We will be landing shortly. Please continue to remain in your seats until the plane has been safely landed. Thank you."

I gathered my things and jubilantly waited for the plane to land.

Only an hour away.

Only an hour away from seeing them.

My most favorite people on earth.

Mrs. K had arranged for me to come to visit Jermaine and Tito. Finally after three long years.

She said she had been wanting to do this for a long time, but the boys had always been so busy that she didn't want me to come and not be able to see them.

Technically, I was supposed to be in school but flights going to California were rare during this time of year and my grades were freakishly good, so my aunt agreed to let me come for a couple days.

I'd missed Jermaine and Tito terribly when they left. It was like someone ripped out a piece of my heart.

Back home, every single girl had a crush on Jermaine and they asked me about him all the time.

I told them what they wanted to know, but left out the personal stuff. All the questions never really bothered me because this had started happening before they left, and besides I was proud that my best friends had made it this far.

Friends.

Friend.

Jermaine and I were still friends.

Well, I hope so.

This visit will hopefully change that though.

While he was gone, my feelings for Jermaine only grew. The whole 'but we're just friends!' thing definitely got squashed after I saw him shirtless on the cover of "Right On!" All the questions and comments about him made me see him in a new light. A "locker room girl" light.

Though the girls back home frequently mooned over him and talked about who he belonged to, I found pleasure in the fact that he was mine.

We've been friends ever since I can remember. We did everything together.
