Chapter 13
(Vegeta's POV)
My morning meditation on the back lawn, underneath one of the bigger trees, was interrupted when I felt the troublesome spike in energy. My overwhelming curiosity is what drove me down to the laboratory. I tried to write off the occurrence as if it wasn't something to worry about. My steps were silent as I followed behind the blue-haired woman, my arms languidly crossed to my chest. She had instructed me to escort her to the bedroom and then over to the infirmary.
I shoved down my ridiculous concern towards the woman's health as we walked out of the lab. My irritation towards my own reaction grew as the reality of my situation sunk in; I should have never involved myself with these blasted earthlings. Our steps echoed through the corridor as we continued the journey down the hall. I glared at the back of her head while I recalled the obvious panic in her eyes during our previous conversation. Those distracting sapphires could never hide a thing from me, she was well aware that the brat has the potential to seriously injure her.
Bulma abruptly stopped at the bottom of the first staircase, she sluggishly leaned her back against the accompanying wall. I halted my steps and watched as she tried to calm her labored breaths. I quickly turn my attention to the top of the staircase. We aren't even anywhere close to the bedroom and the woman was obviously exhausted. I curiously wondered how long it took her to get down here in the first place. As my eyes surveyed the blue haired oddity I confidently recall the location of the infirmary; it was on the complete opposite side of the compound. The bluenette was still easing her racing breath as her eyes were focused on the top of the stairs. I knew if we continued at this pace we wouldn't be at the infirmary until nightfall.
It was hard to ignore the nagging voice in the back of my mind, it was persistent that I just leave her be. With a frustrated sigh my arms uncrossed and dropped to my side. Within a few steps I was in front of the already drained woman. "Get on my back." I briskly muttered my command with my back turned to the bluenette. There was no audible complaint from her as she quickly wrapped her arms around my neck. With little effort I lift her up by the meat of her thighs, her feet swiftly leaving the purchase of the tiled floor.
The journey to the room was quick, I had navigated the halls easily, even with the squirming woman on my back. Once behind the closed door I deposited the woman on her feet. She hastily pushed past me and my eyes trailed her as she scramble around the room. She plopped down on the bed and fumbled to get her shoes and socks off. She was eventually back on her feet to stroll over to the dresser. She thrust open one of the drawers and sorted through the contents until she procured a purple dress?
I stared in brazen confusion as she stripped off all her current clothes before she slipped the material over her head. "You made me bring you up here for a dress?" I badgered in frustration.
She shot me a menacing glare, "It's a delivery gown! I will not be caught dead in those horrendous hospital gowns!" She heinously argued back as she stomped towards her bedside table.
"What about your underwear?" I mockingly tease the aggravated woman as she rifled through the contents of the drawer. She bared her teeth to me over her shoulder, my ears perked at her low growl.
