Elara felt the weight of her ancestors pressing down on her, but she refused to be


intimidated. "I'm not running from my past anymore. I choose to forge my own path, free


from your chains."


"Such defiance," the woman mused, her tone mocking. "But you don't know what you're up


against."


"Then enlighten me," Elara challenged, stepping forward. "What do you want from me? What


is this curse that binds us?"


The woman's smile faded, replaced by a flicker of something dark. "You seek answers, but


the truth is not what you expect. Your father made a pact, and you, Elara, are the key to its


fulfillment."


The room grew still, the members of the society leaning closer, their eyes glinting with


expectation.


"You'll never have what you desire," Elara said firmly, her heart pounding. "I won't be your


pawn."


"Perhaps you should reconsider," the woman warned, her voice low and menacing. "The


past has a way of revealing itself, whether you want it to or not."
