As Elara stood in the doorway, the tension among the three of them reached a boiling point.
She could feel the electricity in the air-the weight of unspoken truths pressing down on her
shoulders like a storm cloud threatening to burst.
"Damien, what is Lucy talking about?" Elara asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The
urgency in her tone cut through the thick atmosphere, and both men turned their eyes
toward her.
Damien took a step forward, his expression softening, but the flicker of anger still danced
behind his stormy blue eyes. "Elara, I promise I-"
"No!" Lucy interjected, her voice trembling with emotion. "You can't trust him! He's hiding
something. He's been using you to get back at your father, and it's only a matter of time
before he gets what he wants."
The accusation hung heavily in the air, and Elara felt her heart race, a mix of betrayal and
confusion swirling within her. "What do you mean?" she demanded, her voice gaining
strength. "What has he done?"
"I know things about Damien that you don't," Lucy pressed, her hazel eyes locking onto
Elara's. "Things about his past. He's not the man you think he is."
"Then tell me!" Elara urged, desperation lacing her voice. "I need to know the truth."Damien's face hardened, the mask slipping further as the raw edges of his pain began to
surface. "What do you think you know, Lucy?" he spat, his voice low and dangerous. "You
don't know anything about what I've lost."
Lucy took a deep breath, her resolve firm. "I know that you're looking for revenge, Damien. I
know you think Elara is just a pawn in your game, a way to hurt her father. If you really care
about her, you need to let her go before you drag her into your darkness."
Elara felt torn apart. Her heart ached for the man she was falling for, the one who had
opened his soul to her in ways she hadn't anticipated. But there was a growing sense of
dread that wrapped around her like an iron shroud.
"Enough!" Elara shouted, surprising both Damien and Lucy. "I can make my own decisions. I
won't let either of you dictate my life."
With that, she stepped back into the mansion, leaving the two of them staring at each other,
the silence heavy with unspoken truths and the weight of their words.
