"And then he took that ghetto chick home on his motorcycle!"

"Britt–"

"Can you believe it! He's so trying to make me jealous."

"Britt–"

"I know she's not his type at all, it's all for show."

"Brittany–"

"And when did he get a motorcycle? Probably thinks he's sooo cool now. What a poser."

"Brittany!"

Jeanette had to take a steady breath to break her voice through Brittany's nonstop rant. By now she was filled in on Brittany's entire encounter with Alvin yesterday at the mall. The encounter may have lasted a total of about ten minutes, but this phone call is about to reach two hours.

Not that Jeanette didn't want to be there for her older sister, but she was really feeling like a diary entry that just reached its capacity. She should really recommend journaling to Brittany, it would be a much healthier way for her to release some steam and maybe even sort out her issues. This way Jeanette could spend her time more productively as well.

"I'm sorry Britt, but we sorta did go over this already and I have things to get done." She said as gently as she could.

Unfortunately for Brittany, Jeanette had a life of her own to attend and she was keeping her from it. Brittany heaved a sigh in understanding. There was no one else she could bring this up to but Jeanette since no one else knows about the break up –Besides Eleanor. She had so much more to say still, but had to push down her words until her only sister on speaking terms would be available next.

"I see. You have more important things to do. I understand." She didn't mean to sound as snarky as she did but she also didn't take it back.

"Brittany, you know it's not like that."

"I know, I know," She sighed, "And...Thank you, Jeanette."

As dissatisfied she was cutting short her rant, she noted to give her appreciation to Jeanette for listening. With Eleanor holding her own end of the grudge, Jeanette's been the middleman of her two sisters as she would never pick and choose sides. Putting her in that position made Brittany feel a little sorry for Jeanette, but not sorry enough to admit she may have been a little overdramatic. The best she could do at the moment was show her sister some thankfulness. After all, Jeanette deserved a thank you, not just for the phone call but for many things she's done for Brittany throughout their lives. Brittany hasn't shown much gratitude over the years but she knows when it is due. And Jeanette is owed one great deal of it for putting up with Brittany the way she has.

Jeanette took in the very rare moment of consideration given by her older sister. This was now the second time her usually-too-self-important sister has shown her thankfulness within the same month. A new all-time record. Maybe this trip idea was a needed eye-opener for Brittany to improve her temperament.

"You're welcome, Brittany."

And a smile spread with a warm tingling on Brittany's face.

"On another note, it seems your infatuation with Alvin has helped with your recent heartbreak." Jeanette ended with an observation she picked up during their call.
