Anzo arrived with two of his knights at the entrance of the east wing of the manor where the servants and guards were frantically pacing around with their shaky feets trying not to get burned or possessed by the dark purple hued fire.
"Was anyone hurt?" Anzo asked the head manservant of the east wing, Doff.
"Two maids and three manservants were lightly injured but a butler was almost burnt while trying to protect a guard's son." He bowed and replied to the master's inquiry.
"I hope all the servants are now safely evacuated to the west wing. Request the main physician to heal the injured staff members." He ordered Doff who politely accepted his command.
But, as he eyed the walking Doff with his slightly stiff posture, he ordered a trusted manservant to follow Doff.
Anzo then gritted his teeth and then urged one of the knights who was holding a sophisticatedly designed chest to walk towards him.
The knight bowed as he presented the medium sized dark coloured chest held in his hands.
It was made of intricately carved mahogany wood and with its lid gracefully rested against the bottom and the latch that kept the chest shut was also made of a polished brass material, with a finely detailed filigree pattern on it.
The lid of the chest was lifted by Anzo, as he slowly moved the lid to reveal the miniature staff resting peacefully within. Its beautifully carved handle and carefully sculpted details were in full view. A sense of magic seemed to radiate off the staff, as if it held immense power behind its miniature form.
As Anzo picked up the staff, it almost seemed to react to his touch, sensing his presence. With a slight hum of energy, the staff began to gradually grow in size, transforming from a miniature form to a regular-sized staff. The once small and detailed staff was now a more formidable weapon in the Anzo's hand.
The smooth, dark oak shaft of the staff was perfectly straight and unblemished, the wood displayed a deep, rich dark colored hue that seemed to soak up the surrounding light. The handle was wrapped in leather, its grip providing a steady and comfortable hold. At the top of the staff, a round golden crystal was inlaid in the wood. A deep, almost invisible aura of magic hung around the staff, giving it an air of power and authority.
Anzo's fingers then gently wrapped around the staff, a soft glow emitted from the carved markings on the rod. A surge of powerful mana coursed through the staff, as Anzo directed it to face the fire.
【The Staff of The Divine Light】was was especially made to cancel out dark sorcery and strange demonic energies.
Anzo, now holding the staff, directed its tip at the fire in the corner that was refusing to subside. As he did so, the staff began to emit a soft, almost invisible glow that channelled its divine energy. With a gesture and a mental command, the man sent a pulse of divine energy towards the fire. The flames, not defying expectations, began to sputter and shrink, as if the staff's power was suppressing the dark sorcery caused by the purple hued dark fire's intensity.
Anzo watched the fire intently, noticing that it wasn't extinguishing completely despite the staff's power. Instead, the fire seemed to be contained, its fierce dark purple hued blaze was mostly hindered but not entirely vanquished. The staff's energy was strong, but not enough to instantly extinguish the defiant flames.
His eyes widened as he realised the implications of the fire's behaviour. If the fire was not simply an unruly flame but rather manipulated by someone else. Then this phenomenon posed a dangerous new problem. His mind wandered over the unexpected revelation as his grip on the staff tightened.
