Chapter 13: Betrayal and Rescue: Bhoomi's Ordeal

But discovering that the person he took a liking to was kidnapped by them was not good news for them-it was like inviting Yama to a vacation. Lucifer's fury made him look like death incarnate. He ordered his subordinates to keep an eye on the organization, instructing them to kill anyone who attempted to harm her. Knowing Bhoomi was not simple, he decided to wait, suspecting she had planned something. He also doubted that Abhimanyu might be her, deciding to wait to avoid revealing that he knew her secret.

The next day, with Lucifer's help, Adil and his team entered the place where, according to intel, Bhoomi was being held. But what they saw changed their world view. Bhoomi was sitting on a throne-like chair, sipping mango juice in one hand and holding a gun pointed at the leader in the other. Adil, seeing this, ran to Bhoomi, hugging her tightly while crying, and she hugged him back. She turned to Lucifer and asked if he was also a member of the underworld, to which he replied yes. Bhoomi smiled happily and asked if he was interested in being her partner. Lucifer, with a ghost of a smile, said "always," hinting at a double meaning that everyone understood except Bhoomi, who was busy on her laptop. Adil pitied Lucifer, who looked at Bhoomi fondly.

After shifting the power of the organization to Lucifer's "Fallen Angel," Bhoomi briefed him on what he needed to know. Lucifer was proud to learn she was both an agent and a strategist. Bhoomi performed a medical check-up on the old lady at Lucifer's place and then returned on the organization's private flight, with just a week left before her brother's wedding.

The days flew by, and by the start of 2023, it was three months after her second brother's wedding. Everything normalized after the merger with Fallen Angel, doubling their revenue. Curious about Lucifer's management skills, Bhoomi asked him about it when he visited her family. He replied that he would explain if she visited his place.

Bhoomi's parents and brothers liked Lucifer, who seemed honest and looked like a superhero body double. When someone teased Bhoomi, calling her a gold digger, her friends, parents, brother, and Lucifer made the accuser live in the streets by buying his place and exposing his illegal activities. Lucifer even added him to Interpol's list. Seeing what Lucifer did for their daughter, Bhoomi's family accepted him as a son-in-law. To ease their minds, Lucifer said he was slowly shifting his base and would live in India if Bhoomi agreed, showing his deep love for her.

On Bhoomi's 25th birthday, Lucifer informed her family of his proposal plan. Her family was delighted. However, the jealous person who called her a gold digger planned to ruin their happiness by planting a bomb in a flower bouquet intended for Bhoomi. He thought that making her disappear would plunge them into misery, just like him.

Everything seemed perfect. Bhoomi was beautifully dressed in an outfit chosen by her parents, jewelry selected by her brothers and sisters-in-law, and a hairstyle done by her friends. She felt uneasy since morning but didn't want to spoil their excitement. As she entered the venue, a small girl handed her a red rose bouquet, wishing her a happy birthday. Bhoomi accepted it with a smile and thanked her.

Unbeknownst to her, the bouquet had a bomb implanted in it. As she held it near her chest, she looked for her family. Others were hiding while Lucifer brought out the cake. Bhoomi's eyes lit up when she saw him, asking if he had seen her family. Lucifer smiled, bent on one knee, took out a ring, and proposed, with both standing on either side of a table. Bhoomi, seeing her family approving, smiled and was about to answer when the bomb exploded.

The force of the blast threw Bhoomi backward, her body bloodied. For everyone else, their ears were ringing. Lucifer was the first to break the stupor. He madly ran towards Bhoomi's body, collecting her broken form in his arms, only to see her unconscious. He then ran towards his car with Bhoomi in his arms. Others came towards them as Lucifer's subordinates found the culprit and locked him in their base. But after two hours in the hospital, Bhoomi was announced dead. Hearing this, everyone was devastated. When Lucifer learned about the culprit, he said, "If only I had not been merciful to him, my Bhoomi would still be with me. Now I have killed the girl I loved most." He cried sadly and ordered his assistant to kill every member of the culprit's family in front of his eyes, just as he had done to them.
