[time skip a week later]

yurim was in the midst of her physical education class and today was a special one, part of a long-standing tradition where first-year university students were paired up with seventh graders—the first years of high school—to help ease the transition between the two connected campuses.

"alright, class, listen up! we've been assigned class one of the seventh grade. kids, come on in!" mr. kim, the pe teacher, announced enthusiastically.

yurim and her friend haeyul exchanged amused glances, snorting at how mr. kim called the seventh graders "kids." as the younger students filed in, both girls stifled their squeals.

"oh my gosh, that's my brother!" 

"and that's my sister!" they whispered excitedly as they waved frantically at yujin and jinseo, who returned shy, yet happy, waves.

"so," mr. kim continued, his tone lively, "we've decided that siblings will be paired together. for the rest of you, you can pick your juniors or seniors. anyone left without a partner, i'll take care of it. now, let's get into pairs! siblings, you're up first."

just then, one of the guys from yurim's class raised his hand. "mr. kim, what if i have two younger siblings in seventh grade?"

mr. kim shrugged casually. "you'll just have to deal with them both."

the entire class erupted into laughter as they moved to form pairs. haeyul and yurim rushed toward their respective siblings. haeyul hugged her younger sister jinseo tightly, while yurim pinched yujin's cheeks playfully.

"also, yujin," yurim teased, lowering her voice, "isn't she jinseo? the one you liked back in china?" she wiggled her eyebrows as yujin gave her a look of pure exasperation, though a faint blush crept across his face.

mr. kim clapped his hands to get everyone's attention. "okay, here are the rules! number one, you can recruit the help of your other siblings or relatives, but they must be from this high school or university. number two, you can team up with only one other pair from any class. number three, you may also get help from people who admire or look up to you. number four, you are not allowed to leave either campus. and number five, you'll receive a map marked with clues to find hidden stars. you'll also have to identify three seniors from the given hints. understood?"

"yes, sir!" both classes answered in unison.

"oh, and before i forget, all other class teachers are aware of this activity, so you're allowed to enter their classes and ask questions."

with that, both groups eagerly gathered their maps. haeyul turned to yurim with a grin. "hey, wanna team up?"

"of course!" yurim nodded excitedly, pulling yujin and jinseo along with her as she locked arms with haeyul. "now, let's go!"
