"I'm afraid by the time you read this, I'll either be dead or will be soon, because I made the mistake of calling you lovely—repeatedly, knowing full well how much you hate that. But, since there's a good chance I'm already dead... here we go, lovely lovely lovely lovely lovely—"

Delia let out a laugh as she skipped through three pages which only had the word lovely written on them.

"—loveliest Diane. I had a wonderful life (sorry). My parents were great, my friend (yes, singular) was great, and so were my Pokémon. But out of all those good things... you, my love, were the best. I loved you every second of my life and I will kept loving you until the end of time. I don't know when you're going to get this letter, maybe it's after my death or years later, but I just want you to know that I'm proud of you, I always was and I always will be.

"What I am about to say to you must remain between us. The war as we know it has been a lie, Diane. You know the golden locket that Ailsa carries around her neck? It is of Saint Alessar, the original God. She belonged to the City of Okera, which translates into a place where the sun never settles. The Van Blacks came from that city. After the city was destroyed and Arceus became the only God, he gave rise to a new power, the one that was linked to Pokémon's.

"There is no chamber of Xovier, there never was. It all started years ago when Stark of the house Raider was murdered the patriarch of the Van Black family. The rest of the houses launched a rebellion against that family, murdering him and leaving two of his children orphaned—Xenos and Uton.

"Xenos was made a ward of the Raiders and Uton of the Oaks. It was in the house of the Raider that Xenos and Eiran fell in love and got married. They had a child, Ryder, who was taken by Uton, who murdered Park, Luke's twin brother (Luke belongs to the Oaks). It was said in the ancient scriptures that in order for a Van Black to gain full control of their power, they'd have to commit a heinous crime. Killing Ryder was Uton's heinous crime. There is a gap in the literature, but from what I could infer, Xenos went after him and butchered him for what he'd done to her child. That was her heinous crime.

"It was said that once a Van Black unleashed their true power, they couldn't go back. And that's what happened to Xenos. That is when the war started. Again, there is a gap in literature, but this is the moment when our ancestors somehow found Arceus's horn and made themselves 'Gods'. I tried really hard to find out why they did it, Diane, but I couldn't. The history is always written from the perspective of the winner, it is nearly impossible to get an objective set of eyes.

"When the time came for Ailsa, it was said that the Van blacks ignited the war, but I don't think they did. I tried to extract as much information I could from Ailsa but the woman is sneaky as hell.
What the Apocalypse wants is completely different than what Xenos and Eiran was wants. My guess is that they want to utilise the power of Saint Alessar to wreak havoc on the world which is... as you guessed, typical. The one controlling the wheel is someone Ailsa is familiar with. Drill her if you have to, I know I wasn't able to.

"That was all the information I was about get for you. I'm sorry I couldn't say this to you to your face and I'm sorry I had to hide all of this from you. Something told me it wasn't the right time. I am still the same James that you fell in love with (hopefully) I just turned out to be a lot more sneakier than you originally thought. I put this letter in my secret research library which only Ailsa knows about behind a wall of a special metal I scoured from the castle of Van Black (long story). The walls are covered with solidified mud which can only be dissolved using acid—specially beer acid. According to me, Ailsa will sooner or later order my lab to be cleared and the person in charge of it will be Charlus, thanks to his uncoordinated hands, he'll drop the beer and find the metal and the carving I made on the wall after which he'll ask the help of Grace (if he's not dumb, that is... Charlus, if you're listening, I love you mate). Along with this is the horn of Arceus, I wasn't able to find a way to destroy it but hopefully you will and a novel which... well, I was quite fond of it."

Delia stopped to take a quick water break.

"Damn, I had the beer with me. Thanks to you, I took it in a non-spill cup," Charlus grunted.

"Guess there were some things he didn't account for," She said, "anyways—

"I guess that is all. That's everything I knew. I am trusting you with this information because if Ailsa falls, you're our last line of defence, my love. I have complete faith in you, I just hope you do too. Lastly, Diane, I must warn you. If you ever find yourself crossing paths with Eiran and Xenos, be prepared. The power they possess is beyond comprehension. If they're unleashed, chaos will follow, and you'll be facing war on two fronts before you even realize it. Also, one more thing, whatever you do... don't let the horn of Arceus fall in the hands of Xenos and Eiran. Okay?

Love, James"

Delia, at a loss of words, heaved a sigh. "That's it," she told Charlus. "That was the end of the letter."

"Huh," the brunet went into a deep thought, "Does he not say what to do if we've done all that he asked us not to?"

"Nope, he does not say that."

"Well then... we're fucked in the ass, aren't we all?
