Review:

Disclaimer: There are a lot of excerpts in here from the story titled, they're all very brief, and no, they don't belong to me. This review is approximately 30 pages long, so brace yourself. However I believe it is more entertaining than most of them have been lately. I had fun. Hi, Coffee.

You know, in hindsight, I think I may have treated my nemesis A Royal Surprise too harshly.

JKKKKK THIS IS WAY BETTER THAN THE ADVENTURES OF ROBOVAC, I JUST WANTED TO SOUND DRAMATIC LOL. YOU CAN NEVER TREAT A ROYAL SURPRISE TOO HARSHLY!

But I will admit, opening up the first chapter of Kayla Rose was a little like opening up an Amazon package and being pelted with an explosion of slugs. What. Is going on here. The dialogue... the writing... the sudden jolts in narration... I'm pissing myself...

Oh no. The title is even all in caps... jUST LIKE A ROYAL SURPRISE!

Alright. Let's be very fair. This is by no means an F. Wow, Ginger, you haven't graded anything an F. I'm not being nice, it's because I have a very specific standard in mind for that sort of score. Wow, crazy, I've got standards. If you are interested in where the bar is, probably the point where I simply can't bend my goodwill any further would be Forgiveness No Punishment. I will not say who by, but you can pretty easily find it yourself. I had the misfortune of reading ten-ish chapters of it when I was a judge on an award a while back (I've judged a few so I forget which one). I wouldn't read further than chapter eight or nine if I were you because somewhere in there are depictions of rape that are about as graphic as a story that feels like it was written by a middle schooler can get. And there are no warnings.
