Sam turns when he hears Dean behind him, only to find his brother with a gun to his head.
"Dean!" Sam yells, as he lunges forward towards the attacker but it whipped across the room, crashing into a table.
"Sammy," Dean says as he begins to cough again.
"No more," the attacker demands as they snap their fingers.
In a flash, Sam and Dean are tied up to chair .
"So you are a witch," Sam speaks as Dean sits in his chair, barely conscious.
"And you both are hunters."
Sam glances at his brother and back at their captor, "why are you doing this Mrs. Kennedy? Why are you making my brother sick?"
Mrs. Kennedy paces back and forth, still holding the gun in her hands, "and why should I be telling you? You were the ones in my house. Why am I the one being hunted?"
"And why shouldn't you be hunted? You are killing people!"
Mrs. Kennedy gets up to Sam's face and points the gun to his chest, "I am not the one killing those people! I am like you, I am hunting this thing."
Sam stiffens up, "why would a witch be hunting another witch?"
"You think we wanted this attention? I knew sooner or later, a brainless hunter like you two would come around and hunt us down."
Sam feels awkward asking a monster for details, but if Dean was seriously sick, he was going to do anything it took. "How much do you know?"
She debates whether or not to say but she does, "all we know is that this witch wants revenge. He is making people close to me sick and ends up killing them. We have yet to figure out who he is or why he's doing this."
"People close to you?"
"One was my neighbor, a plumber I had here, some people I just talk to for 10 minutes."
"And my brother?" Sam asks as he looks over at his brother, slouching down in the chair.
Mrs. Kennedy takes a look at him and then back to Sam, "you both came in to talk to me. He must have gotten the idea that you guys were helping me or something."
"But can you help him? I mean, at least so he is okay until we find this bastard."
She turns back and skims through several cabinets, pulling things out as she goes. She mixes things together and says some things in Latin. She then pours it into a bowl and moves over to Dean.
Sam catches her eye, "if this is a trick, I swear to God I will kill you."
And with that, Mrs. Kennedy pushes Dean's head back and pours the liquid down his throat.
Sam sits, waiting for any sign of better health from his brother as Dean starts to spit up and jerks awake.
"What the hell was that?" he asks angrily, "it tasted like ass."
"Something that just saved your life. You're welcome." she says with a smile as she turns back to her table.
Sam looks to Dean and then back to Mrs. Kennedy, "what do we need to do to catch this thing?"
"Sammy why are you asking a witch? They lie! We've learned that the hard way before," Dean asks, confused and angry.
"She did just save your life, Dean."
"That gives you no reason to team up with her!" Dean says as he moves, trying to break free of his restraints.
"If you two would stop bickering, I would explain," Mrs. Kennedy says as she clears her throat.
The boys quiet down and listen to what she has to say.
She sits in front of the brothers and sighs, "I am a witch, of course you already know that though. I started witchcraft when Maison was young, just to see if it actual worked. One day, eight years ago, I was working on a heavier spell and Maison walked in. She got sick right after that. I took her to the hospital but she kept getting sicker. I went home and looked up a spell to put her to rest. I found one, but I needed help performing it; that's where Scott Gill came into the picture. Once Maison was gone and everything, Scott came to my house with some paperwork but somehow we ended up talking about witchcraft. My husband killed himself a year later, saying it was his fault Maison died."
"Thanks for the autobiography, but I want to know about the curse, about the ones getting sick," Dean says at her.
She glares back at Dean and snaps her finger, causing Dean to cough heavily and grabbing at his throat, not able to breathe.
Mrs. Kennedy stands next to him and whispers into his ear, "I don't appreciate the sarcasm. I am the one keeping you alive; so I wouldn't test your luck because you could be died in a second."
Dean nods and then is able to breathe again and the coughing stops.
"This curse is put on people who have come in contact with me; but most don't last this long. Having Scott be their doctor gives me an inside look at what's going on. It seems they die the same exact way my daughter did, which is odd because we didn't fully explain the way she died; which makes me believe it is someone I know."
Sam nods, "we are going need a list of all the people you have had close contact with ever since Maison died."
