"This is not an offer," Jeonghan said without breaking eye contact with Seungcheol, "This is a command."

Jihoon blinked, the sharpness in his expression intensifying. "What?"

Before anyone else could react, Jeonghan yanked his arm free from Seungcheol's grip, the movement sudden and violent enough to sting. The burn on his wrist was sharp, but he ignored it, already turning away, the hem of his coat swirling around his legs like a dark shadow.

He stalked back toward the group of vampires behind him, each step deliberate. "Seungcheol apparently wants to lock me up," Jeonghan sneered, voice dripping with sarcasm. "For saving his ass."

The tension shifted instantly, heavy as storm clouds about to burst.

Minghao scoffed, crossing his arms. "Is that true? That's how hunters say thank you now?" His sharp gaze flicked to Seungcheol, simmering with thinly veiled anger.

Jihoon stepped forward, expression cold and sharp as a dagger. "This is some spectacular hypocrisy. You want us to trust you and listen to your command after all the times you've tried to take us out?"

"This isn't just about trust," Wonwoo cut in, the frustration clear in his posture. "You act innocent, but we know what you're capable of."

Mingyu's low laugh cut through the tension. "You think we're the only ones with blood on our hands? Give me a break." His gaze flicked toward Wonwoo, sharp as a knife. "Might want to check yourself first Wonwoo"

Seungkwan stepped closer to Wonwoo, rubbing his temples as if trying to ward off a headache. "This isn't the time for accusations."

Hansol nodded, "Jeonghan's not well—we all know that."

Chan rolled his eyes, "Oh, here we go. Like you've ever cared about our well-being."

As the argument spiraled around them, Seungcheol remained silent, eyes fixed on Jeonghan, "You're enjoying this, aren't you?"

"Immensely," the vampire smirked, his dark eyes glinting with a mix of mischief and satisfaction, reveling in the chaos unfolding around him. The delight in his expression sent a ripple of frustration through Seungcheol, a reminder of just how infuriatingly unpredictable Jeonghan could be.

Joshua exchanged an uncertain glance with Seokmin, concern knitting his brow. "Should we... intervene?" he whispered, his voice barely audible over the heated exchanges.

Seokmin sighed, shaking his head slightly. "Not sure that'll end well for us. Maybe we just let them work this out?"

Seungcheol suddenly snapped, his voice rising above the discord. "Enough!" The command hung in the air, silencing the group with its weight.

"Jeonghan, you're clearly in no shape to be out there. You're going to regret your actions if you keep this up. Keeping you safe tonight is just as crucial as protecting everyone else. I promise you, I will do everything in my power to ensure your safety and comfort. You risked your life to save mine, and I'll do the same for you tonight"

Silence hung heavy in the air as Jeonghan absorbed Seungcheol's words, his expression unreadable.

"So," Seungcheol pressed, his voice low and intense, "what's it going to be?"

Jeonghan hesitated, the flicker of uncertainty crossing his face for the briefest moment. Finally, he relented, though his voice remained firm. "You guys can go to the other base. Jihoon, you know where it is, right? Take them there."

Jihoon's brows furrowed in protest. "But—"

"It's fine," Jeonghan interjected, dismissing the argument with a wave of his hand, though a tightness in his chest suggested he felt anything but fine. "I can manage myself."
