A year later~
A year ago, when Seungcheol and Jeonghan sat on that bench and decided to give their love a chance, they believed that no matter the time—a day, a week, a month, or even a year—the way they looked at each other would always speak of love.
But now, Jeonghan stood by the bar, his glare sharp enough to cut through the dim club lights and land squarely on Seungcheol, who sat at the far corner, laughing carelessly at something one of his hunter friends said. Jeonghan's fingers tapped impatiently against his glass as he downed another shot, muttering under his breath.
"I can practically feel the hate radiating from your eyes," Soonyoung snickered from behind the counter, his grin wide and shameless as he leaned over to place another shot in front of Jeonghan.
"Shut it, dragon, if you value your head," Jeonghan snapped.
Soonyoung whined, his pout exaggerated as he placed a hand over his chest. "Come on, I thought we got closer than that. Call me Soonyoung. I'd like to think I'm part of your family now."
That earned him a withering glare from Jeonghan, who didn't even bother hiding his disdain. "Seriously, keep your mouth shut if you want to keep your head intact."
Jihoon, sitting comfortably beside Jeonghan, snickered into his glass, shaking his head at the scene. "He's not kidding, Soonyoung. Maybe try someone less homicidal if you want to keep your charming face."
Soonyoung sighed dramatically but wisely backed off, pouring himself a drink instead. Meanwhile, Jeonghan mumbled into his shot glass, the venom in his voice unmistakable. "Can you even believe the audacity of Seungcheol? He's unbelievable. Today's the day, Jihoon. He's going to die, and it will be my hands that end him."
Jihoon didn't miss a beat. "You should do it."
"What?" Soonyoung blurted, wide-eyed. "Are you serious?"
"Yes," Jihoon deadpanned, taking a calm sip of his drink. "I think Seungcheol deserves it."
"You're right." Jeonghan slammed his empty shot glass onto the counter and stood up. "Stay on standby. You may need to help me get rid of the body."
"Yeah, yeah," Jihoon waved off Jeonghan's words with a nonchalant thumbs up. "My boyfriend owns this club, so it'll be easier to take care of."
"HELLO?!" Soonyoung threw up his hands. "I'm the boyfriend, and I'm standing right here!"
Jeonghan didn't even acknowledge him, giving Jihoon a pat on the shoulder. "You're the best." With that, he stalked off, determination written all over his face.
As Jeonghan disappeared into the crowd, Jihoon leaned back in his seat and swirled his drink lazily. "Let's hope Jeonghan's plan goes smoothly."
"Plan? Smoothly?" Soonyoung gawked. "You mean murdering Seungcheol? Absolutely not! He's like my brother—I don't want him dead!"
Jihoon tilted his head, pretending to listen, before smirking. "and...why exactly are you blushing?"
"Because" Soonyoung's ears turned red as he looked away. "Because you called me your boyfriend"
Jihoon rolled his eyes but smiled. "Seriously? We've been dating for a year, Soonyoung."
"Yeah, but I'm still not used to it," Soonyoung admitted shyly, his grin small but genuine.
Jihoon got to his feet, setting his glass down carefully. He leaned over the bar, lowering his voice so only Soonyoung could hear. "I came here to spend time with the owner of this place, and instead, I find him playing bartender. Too bad—I thought I could show him a really good time."
