"You can stay for a bit, if you'd like. Shane probably won't be home for a while." I said, leaning onto the counter, watching as Azalia grabbed her stuff. She still wouldn't look at me, even after a week.
I honestly haven't been too well. Works been a pain in the ass, Gia's behavior has been off the charts and Shane's pissy as usual. It's like everybody was in a funk, including Azalia. She was taking her grudge to the extreme and I guess I couldn't even blame her. I was the one who decided to make a move after all. I just wish she'd talk to me.
"No thanks. I have some errands to run." She said quickly walking to the door. I sighed, unable to take her silent treatment anymore. Almost running to the door, I grabbed her wrist that was closest to me. She tugged away, but wasn't able to break loose from my grip.
"Azalia, just talk to me." My agitation was showing, more than I liked.
"There's nothing to talk about. Let go of me." She stumbled into the door, as I took the opportunity to spin her around to face me. Finally, finally I was able to look at her eyes as her gaze locked into mine. Sad brown eyes breaking my heart in two. I've never seen her look at me with such contempt before and it wasn't something I ever wanted to see from her again.
My mouth fell open to speak, but no words were able to escape before the locks to the door began to click. Both of us flinching, Azalia quickly backed up to allow it to be pushed open, bringing considerable space between her and I.
Shane opened the door, seeing the two of us standing there. He glanced between us with a risen eyebrow. He's home earlier than he ever is, and it annoyed me to no end.
"I was just heading out." Azalia said, walking out of the door to which Shane shut it. I sighed and glanced down to the floor feeling my heart ache at the thought that I might've damaged things between us permanently.
"What's up with you?" I heard Shane's voice, prompting me to look up and see him in the kitchen. He was ruffling through the pantry most likely searching for something to eat.
"Nothing." I replied.
"Well can you cook something? I'm hungry." He deadpanned, standing defeated as he turned to look at me.
"You're a big boy Shane, cook your own shit." I sighed and left, walking upstairs into the master bedroom. I was happy that Gia had a consistent napping schedule, which meant that whenever Azalia left I had atleast two hours to myself. What made me happier is that Shane was home so little, that this bedroom was basically mine. My favorite part of the day was getting home, undressed and taking a shower.
I adored the stone floors and glass doors of it, and it was so spacious that I could stay in here forever. I walked into the bathroom and closed it, stripping myself of the business wear that's clung to my skin the entire day. My hair was usually worn down, but I put it up today since it was a bit greasy. It felt good to finally let my tight bun down, I sighed as I stepped into the hot water.
My tense muscles relaxed, and I ran my fingers through my now soaked hair. I sighed, leaning my head defeatedly against the wall of the shower. Like a virus, Azalia spread her way back into my thoughts once more. It was weird, even with Melody all those years ago my heart never physically hurt everytime I thought about her. Thinking about Azalia however, was enough to make me question if I was going to have a heart attack.
Something about her lured me in everytime. Images of her brown eyes, that cute smile and those curls I loved so much graced my mind. My right hand rose slowly to touch the skin on my neck, the same spot she grabbed me when I kissed her a week ago.
