After arriving at the park, Tessa, N, Jay, and V busied themselves with setting up for the picnic. The warm afternoon sun bathed the grassy clearing, and a light breeze carried the scents of nearby flowers. Tessa was laying out the checkered tablecloth and helping arrange the outdoor games when she glanced around, noticing something—or rather, someone—missing.

Tessa: (frowning, hands on her hips) "Where did Y/n and Cyn run off to?"

N: (standing up from where he was setting up a game of cornhole) "Oh, Y/n mentioned he was running a diagnostic scan on Cyn. Said it wouldn't take long."

Tessa's brows furrowed, a mix of annoyance and amusement crossing her face.

Tessa: "He promised no tech stuff today. This was supposed to be our break."

Jay: (rolling her eyes as she adjusted the net for a game of badminton) "I mean, what do you expect from that nerd? He'd probably fix a toaster during a dinner date."

V: (leaning against the table, her voice calm) "I think he's just trying to make sure Cyn is okay. You know how he gets when he's worried."

Tessa sighed, glancing back at the others as she brushed some hair behind her ear.

Tessa: (grinning slightly) "I'll be right back, guys. Can you finish setting up here? I'm gonna go find them before Cy spends the whole afternoon buried in tech."

N: (saluting playfully) "You got it, Tessa."

Jay: (smirking) "Give him a good beating, will ya, boss? He deserves it for ditching us."

With a shake of her head and a chuckle, Tessa set off to find Y/n and Cyn, following a small wooded trail that led to the parking area. She soon spotted them near the trunk of the SUV—Cyn was sitting criss cross in the truck, engrossed in a game on Y/n's tablet, while Y/n fiddled with some equipment from the car's storage compartment.

Y/n: (glancing over at Cyn with a reassuring smile) "Alright, Cyn, I'm just gonna do a few quick tests, okay? Won't take but a minute."

Cyn: (nodding, her attention still on the tablet) "Okay, Y/n."

Tessa stepped closer, her hands on her hips as she gave Y/n a pointed look.

Tessa: "Y/n M/n L/n."

Y/n jumped slightly at the sound of his full name, turning to see Tessa standing there, her expression a mixture of amusement and mild annoyance. He quickly realized she wasn't too thrilled about what he was up to.

Y/n: (nervous chuckle) "Oh, hey, Tessa. You, uh, found us."

Tessa: (raising an eyebrow, crossing her arms) "I thought we agreed on no tech today? This was supposed to be a break."

Y/n rubbed the back of his neck, glancing between Tessa and the diagnostic tools he'd laid out.

Y/n: "I know, I know. But Delta flagged something weird with Cyn's system—said I should run a scan just to be sure everything's fine. I figured I'd get it done now so we can enjoy the rest of the day, and I won't have to worry about it later."

Tessa's expression softened a bit as she glanced at Cyn, who was still playing on the tablet, seemingly unfazed by the situation.

Tessa: (sighing) "I get it. You're just looking out for her. But come on, Y/n, we all need a break, especially you."

Y/n: (grinning sheepishly) "You're right. I promise, just this one quick scan, and then I'm all yours for the rest of the day."

Tessa shook her head but couldn't help smiling at his determination.
