18 Years Later.......

(New Earth)

Eighteen years had passed since the fall of Earth, and humanity had managed to rebuild on the distant world they now called New Earth. On a massive space station orbiting the planet, human workers moved carefully along a satellite's framework, inspecting and repairing its delicate components. Below them, in the station's control center, a team of JCJenson technicians huddled around a digital blueprint projected on a large holo-screen, exchanging puzzled looks as they attempted to decode some of the satellite's intricacies.

One of the workers hurried toward a technician focused on a nearby terminal—a woman with a quiet but commanding presence. Now 36, Tessa's eyes, sharp with intelligence, darted over the complex data as she diagnosed a separate system error. Her JCJenson-issued technician suit bore signs of wear from long days and nights dedicated to keeping the station's systems operational.

Worker: (urgently) "Hey, Tessa! We're having a problem with the satellite's signal—can't get it stable. It keeps flickering out every couple of minutes."

Tessa: (not looking up, her voice calm) "Let me take a look."

She turned to the terminal, her fingers moving deftly over the controls as she accessed the satellite's signal diagnostics. Within moments, Tessa pinpointed the issue—a misaligned component in the relay transmitter—and re-routed a backup system to stabilize the signal.

Tessa: "There, that should hold it steady. We'll need to recalibrate the relay fully in a bit, but this should get the data flowing again."

The worker and nearby technicians exchanged relieved looks as the signal's feed solidified, streaming cleanly onto their screens.

Worker: (grateful) "Thanks, Tessa. I don't know what we'd do without you."

Tessa: (smiling faintly, with a glimmer of something like nostalgia) "Just another day at JCJenson, right?"

She turned back to the terminal, but her mind drifted for a moment. She hadn't always been just another technician for JCJenson—memories of Earth and the battles she'd fought alongside Y/n and the others flickered in her thoughts. She'd witnessed the horrors JCJenson was capable of, yet here she was, playing the loyal engineer. A pang of unease rippled through her; she'd seen what the company would do to anyone who got in their way.

Tessa: I better get going, my mother in law is waiting for me.

Worker: Alright. See you tomorrow, Tessa.

Tessa rode through the quiet streets on her motorbike, the night air cool against her face. The hum of the engine, steady and rhythmic, left her mind free to wander back in time. Her gaze drifted to her cybernetic arm, its metallic surface gleaming faintly under the streetlights. The limb, sturdy and capable, reminded her not only of her battles but of Y/n, the life they'd once dreamed of together, and the sacrifices made along the way.

When she pulled up to her modest home—a place she'd shared with M/n since the aftermath of that fateful day—she felt a familiar warmth settle over her. Inside, the small living room was softly lit, a collection of trinkets and photos on the walls adding to its hominess. She stepped inside, setting her helmet down.

Tessa: (calling out) "Hey, M/n. I'm home!"

Footsteps approached, and Y/n's mother, M/n, emerged from the hallway with a welcoming smile.

M/n: "Welcome home, Tessa." (pausing, noticing Tessa's weary expression) "Long day?"

Tessa: (nodding as she shrugged off her jacket) "Just... the usual. Fixing JCJenson's messes." She managed a small smile, but her mind was clearly elsewhere. "Where's D/n?"
