WaspSting gave a yawn as the sun began to rise, warming their cold pelt with its kind rays of light. I've never stayed up all night, he thought half miserable, half proud. He watched SheepHorns and KiwiRoot as they shuffled uncomfortably on the dried dirt.

"Well, I thought you'd all be asleep!" OmenStar's happy mew rang from behind them, and they turned around to meet the pearly white she-cat as she strolled toward them. "I guess miracles do happen," she murmured half to herself. OmenStar grinned as the newly made warriors gasped at her in mock surprise.

"I can't believe you would think such a thing of us," KiwiRoot mewed sadly but her eyes sparkled in amusement. He felt a fresh rush of affection for her as KiwiRoot acted.

"The truth hurts," OmenStar mewed simply before growing serious again. "I bet you're all tired," she watched them as they nodded gingerly, "you don't have to go on any patrols this morning, go get some rest." They dipped their heads thankfully to the leader and began to move to the warriors' den.

"I'm glad we don't have to do that again," WaspSting mewed with a chuckle as they approached the den.

"Yes," SheepHorns nodded tiredly.

"I feel like my paws are about to fall off," KiwiRoot agreed hazily. They pushed their way up and came to the top, picking a nest quickly then slumping down. No one said anything, just fell into sleep. WaspSting watched them as their breathing became longer and deeper before closing his own eyes, letting the blanket of darkness enfold him.

He opened his eyes and looked around. A river gurgled nearby and the foliage around him was dense and lush. Scuffling his paws nervously, he realized it wasn't WindClan that he found himself in. He started to search around. This was RiverClan. Oh, he thought to himself – this is a dream! WaspSting began to walk around, exploring. What's that? The muffled yowls of cats sounded ahead. He quickened his pace, heading to where the yowling and wailing of cats was coming from; the voices sounded distressed. Running as though he was a rabbit, he reached the place the noise was coming from quite quickly. He skidded to a halt on the scattered pebbles in front of the RiverClan camp entrance. He paused, wondering if he would be welcome in the RiverClan cat's camp. Just go in, he urged himself, it was only a dream anyway. As he leapt inside, he saw the golden-white pelt of ShellStar. His eyes widened in horror: crows were attacking the RiverClan leader and her campmates, the sky was swamped with them, a black swirling mass of beating wings. This is only a dream! He tried to reassure himself, but the scene was so realistic. ShellStar's eyes suddenly met his.

"Get help..." she mewed in barely more than a whisper before she slumped down onto the rock she had been fighting on and gave into the crows. They let out squawks of delight and ascended...

He opened his eyes, breathing fast as he got used to his surroundings. He was in WindClan camp, but the shrieks of crows still wrung in his ears echoing around his head, disorientating him as he struggled to regain control of himself.

"Are you okay?" He looked up and blinked at KiwiRoot, her kind, yellow eyes met his and he slowly began to calm down. "Bad dream?" she asked, her eyes dazzling with worry for him.

"W-we need to get to RiverClan," he stammered, slowly rising, and finding his feet. His legs were trembling.

Other cats began to look at him weird as he stumbled around the den of drowsy warriors, the sun was setting, and cats were coming back to their nests to sleep. "Let's go to OmenStar," he mewed, his eyes searching for his leader's pearly pelt desperately.

"Calm down," she hushed him, worry sparked through her pelt as she watched him in dismay. "What happened in your dream?" she asked him.

He breathed in, forcing his legs not to tremble. "Come with me," he didn't want to say this with so many warriors around. She nodded and they ducked out of the den, half walking half stumbling, he crept behind a dusty brown bolder. As they settled, he began his story. "I was in RiverClan territory," he began, "and I started exploring, then I heard yowls of cats in distress, so I followed." He paused and drew in a sharp breath. "They lead me to RiverClan camp, and when I walked inside, I saw crows, hundreds of crows, attacking RiverClan cats!" His fur rippled and spiked alone his spine as he recounted what he had seen. "The crows focused mainly on ShellStar, and she told me to get help, then she..." he trailed off, his eyes wide and far away as he spoke, glancing around as if the birds might be hiding around the other side of the bolder.

She shook her head, trying to make sense of what he had just told her. "Was it," she swallowed. "Do you think it was a vision?" WaspSting nodded. "I guess we should tell OmenStar," he nodded uneasily, and they both started walking to the leader's den, before they could go inside, OmenStar poked her head out.

"What are you two up to now?" she glanced at KiwiRoot, then at WaspSting.

"I think WaspSting might have had a vision..." she pauses as though she was placing her paws on unstable ground.

"Go on," the leader mewed. "Can you tell me what happened in it?" she asked, her gaze swinging around to stare at WaspSting.

He gulped, what if she doesn't believe me? No, he told his self sternly, thinking back to the RiverClan leader's wild eyes. "Well..." he began to tell the leader about his dream, hearing the voices of cat and coming into camp to discover they were being attacked by the hundreds of vicious crows, ending in the death of ShellStar. "Do you think I am telling the truth?" he asked awkwardly as he finished retelling his dream.

"You could be right, I want you, KiwiRoot, MockingValley and BlazingFire to check RiverClan. But if I hear that there is nothing wrong there..." her gazed hardened. "You can guess," she nodded for them to leave. He grimaced slightly but obeyed his leader.

They went to the warrior den and collected the cats OmenStar had told them to bring, then began to head for RiverClan territory...
