"When do you have to leave?" Haein asked as she unpacked their luggage. They had travelled to Busan for what Hyunwoo claimed to be a worktrip. Haein wasn't sure what to make of it when he had suddenly asked her to follow him. Througout their marriage, Hyunwoo had never offered nor has she ever followed him for a work trip.

All she could conclude was that Busan might be where her body will remain.

"In a bit." Hyunwoo answered shortly as his eyes was focused on his smartphone.

Haein's eyes travelled to her phone which had been constantly vibrating with the incoming calls and messages from her family. Calling her insane and everything along that line for following through with the Baek family despite knowing their plan to get rid of her and her family.

Annoyed, she switched her phone off. Her eyes travelled to the opened window to their room. They were residing at a villa by the sea and the view was breathtaking. Haein walked over to the window to enjoy the sea breeze and wondered if things were going to be different if her and Hyunwoo had come from ordinary families.

Would they still meet? Would he fall for her like she did for him? Would they marry and have kids?

She felt his arms around her before feeling him kissed her behind her ear.

"The view's amazing isn't it." She hears his voice.

"Are we on a full run now?" She asked turning around to face him, arms crossed as she leaned against the window frame. His arms in between her body.

"What makes you say that?" He asked.

"Well, you never bring me along for your work trips and you haven't told me what your mom spoke about when she came over to the penthouse the other day." Haein tried. "Let's be real. She'll never come over to our place if it wasn't about something serious." She added.

Hyunwoo locked his eyes with hers. She could see he was contemplating.

He wasn't going to be honest with her.

"She wants her place within the family when I take over. The urgency was because harabeoji announced me earlier than scheduled." He partially revealed.

Lies.

"Is that all?" Haein pressed.

Hyunwoo nodded.

Haein blinked.

He really was going to hide it from her.

"Things are heavy on my side. Dad's unhappy. Jihyun noona seems to eyeing me too." He stated the obvious. "I can't leave you in Seoul without my presence. At least until I officially take over the family." He added.

Haein sighed.

"How long are you going to be away? I'm going to be bored while you're gone." She gave up on even trying to make him talk.

"I'll be late. So don't wait for me. If you need anything, just call up Secretary Jang. He's on standby. Also I got my men to guard this place so you don't have to worry." He assured before cupping her face in his hands and giving her a chaste kiss. "I'll see you tomorrow morning." He whispers before leaving.

Haein watched him leave.

*Flashback*

"Leave Baek Hyunwoo. The deal between the family is over." Hong Beom Jun's voice resonates through the line. Gripping the phone in her hand tight, Haein walked away from the door and headed to the bathroom, closing the door and locking it.

She wiped off the tears on her cheeks and gritted her teeth.

"Speak. I'm listening." Haein muttered. Her mind was blurred and she felt betrayed. She knew she shouldn't have trusted Baek Hyunwoo. The night they shared and the conversation they finally had made her trust that he was indeed different and he was indeed in the relationship with her but the conversation he had with his mother is saying otherwise.

She didn't know what to believe anymore.

"Baek Joo Woo had ordered Hyunwoo to kill you. So leave immediately. I'm sending our men over -

"Wait." Haein interrupted. "Don't do anything. Don't make any move of them. Don't even let them know that we know." Haein heaves.

"Haein, he's going to kill you any minute from now!" Hong Beom Jun was baffled.

"I know!" She hissed. "But we also know that was going to happen anyway. It's only a matter of time." She reasoned while keeping her tone down.

"And that time has come. So leave before he does anything to you." Her father warned. "Why are you bothered now? Wasn't this what you want? For me to be gone so that you could have the family all to yourself?" Haein poked.

"Hong Haein. Watch your words. I'm your father." He warned.

Haein scoffed.

"You're worried that if I get killed now, you'll lose everything don't you? The money, the name because I'm technically tied to the Baek anyway." She spilled the truth.

"Hong Haein!"

"If you want your share, don't make a move until I say so. I'll handle them myself. Baek Hyunwoo won't kill me that easily. So just follow my lead." Haein was adamant.

*End of Flashback*

Her eyes travelled to the surrounding of the villa.

5...6...4...2.

She kept track of the number of securities guarding their villa alone.

All armed. They each have a silencer. Shotguns and even a rifle?

Haein sighed before her eyes drifted to exterior of the villa.

3...4...and 2 on each side. There's not even a blindspot for the cameras.

Her eyebrows furrowed. She walked back in and rummaged through her handbag for her burner phone. Flipping it open, she opened up Secretary Na's text message.

'He's not making up the schedule. They are meeting the Yoon clan at the port.' - Secretary Na

Flipping back the phone close, she sat down on the bed before plopping herself flat as she stared at the ceiling.

'What are you exactly up to Baek Hyunwoo?'

...

As soon as Hyunwoo reaches the car to pick him up, he stopped and turn to Secretary Jang.

"Watch Haein for me and report everything that she does today while I'm gone." He reminded. "Yes, Mr Baek." Secretary Jang bowed.

*Flashback*

As soon as his mother leaves, Hyunwoo huff a sigh. He made his way to the bedroom. Not sighting Haein anywhere, he headed to the bathroom when he realised it was locked.

Haein never locks the door. Neither of them ever had.

Hyunwoo soon hears her voice, rather strained and as if she was trying to keep it low. But before he could even try to hear, the door opened revealing a startled Haein.

"You're okay?" He had to ask because it looked like she just cried.

"Oh? Ya...I just had a stomach ache all of a sudden." She retorted.

But there clearly wasn't a flush either.

"Do you need me to get you meds?" He asked regardless. "No, I'm good." She forced a smile.

She couldn't have heard the conversation with mum, had she?

"Who was it?" Haein asked.

"Oh? Just mum." Hyunwoo replied.

*End of Flashback*

"Keep track of her cellphone. Who she calls, her text messages. Everything." Hyunwoo added before finally boarding the car.
