Dhairya

A sigh escapes me as I finally step out of the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The whole week with my parents was astounding but it is finally time to get back to work. When I was boarding for Shimla, I had only a small suitcase filled with my clothes and stuff but now I am carrying two, one with my clothes and the other with food items which mumma specially packed for me.

I switch on my phone to hire a cab for myself. After relentlessly scrolling through the app, I don't find any spare cab. With a pout, I drag my suitcases to the corner and start searching for cabs again when my phone rings.

With a smile I pick up the phone seeing that it is Ani's. After a whole week, I would be hearing his husky voice. Throughout my stay at my parent's house, we just used to chat and that too at the brink of the morning. I feared that if my parents came to know about my affair, they wouldn't allow me to return back to Delhi anytime soon. It's not like I don't want to tell them about Ani but I am scared of the fact that baba would take extreme steps if he comes to know about it.

"I see you can't find a cab for yourself, milady", his teasing voice booms over the phone and I let out a gasp. How does he know that I am having trouble finding a cab? Is he spying on me?

"H-how do you know?" I stutter looking here and there. He chuckles from the other side and teases, "Only if you had paid attention to your surroundings, you'd know".

I roll my eyes at his chiding and exclaim, "Don't talk in riddles Ani, where are you?"

"Aahh you got it. I thought I'll scare you by saying that I have someone following you etc etc", he says, his chuckles infuriating me. Well, he is just like that. Behind his stoic face, he hides a ready to go, cute personality.

"Very funny Ani", I scold rolling my eyes. Taking hold of the handle of the two suitcases, I move my gaze from one corner to another in hope that I'll find Ani but I don't find him anywhere.

"Look behind sweetheart", he says through the phone and I snap my neck only to find him waving at me with a smirk. He had taken his refuge behind a large palm tree kept as a decoration and that is probably why I didn't see him. I continue gazing at him, taking in his look after a full two months. As usual he was dressed in a casual tee with denim jeans along with his favourite aviators. With his phone in one hand, he marches towards me, a smile never leaving his face.

"You could have told me that you'll be here", I demand as he stood at a metre distance from me. He smiles childishly and removes his aviators. I roll my eyes seeing him and fold my hands against my chest.

"It wouldn't be a surprise then Dhairya", he softly exclaims with a grin. Oh how much I missed seeing his grin!

With a smile threatening to break on my face, I whine, "Still! That's not fair, Ani".

He chuckles and pulls my cheeks saying, "Aww you are so cute my dear girlfriend. But I am determined to entertain you the whole day today".

I gasp hearing his commitment and ask, "We are going to spend the whole day together?"
