Night time came and Wei Wuxian was disturbed from his meditation by harsh banging on his door. As he opened his eyes the person by the door also swung the wooden structure open.

"You need to leave" it was Zhan Feng looking dishevelled and breathing heavily as he stared a him.

"What happened?" Wei Wuxian asked calmly while getting up from where he previously sat cross-legged. Seeing his calm domeanor the taller man seemed to panic even more, "your cousin's dead" he whusp3red exasperated, yet that didn't seem to affect the young maiden at all. "They're coming for you!" He exclaimed preceeding to grab her, but Wuxian pulled away this time.

Multiple footsteps came near and Wuxian sighed, "why?" He questioned leisurely but there was confusion written all over the older man's face. Seeing this he spoke again, "why are you saving me then?" He asked straight forwardlly this time, but before the man could say anything the mob arrived yelling words of slander filled with hatred and wrath.1

Wei Wuxian couldn't help but recall his own life, how he'd been treated by the entire world, blamed for every small thing.

A smirk grew on Wei Wuxian's face making the man across the room from him shudder before he turned to the mob, "I've got her!" He yelled before grabbing Wei Wuxian again. The girl did not resist, allowing herself to be dragged by the bigger man.

Once they were in the main hall, the air grew thick, everyone was quiet except for the disciples from the Lan sect. "The body has been found less than three minutes ago..?" One of the boys, that looked like the leader of the group, questioned.

"We were returning from the west courtyard to the east courtyard nd founs his body by the hallway.." one of the other disciples responded.

Wei Wuxian nonchantly looked down at the floor, and the boy was indeed Mo Ziyuan, the one who sat a step below his parents earlier. But, though it was Mo Ziyuan, it al wasn't - although the features were obviously the same, the cheekbones were sunken, his eyes bulged and his skin was wrinkled, almost like he'd age over 20 years before his death.

He also apeared as though his flesh and blood had been sucked out, leaving only a thin layer of skin clinging to his skeleton. Most people found this view gruesome, but this kind of things were habitual to Wei Ying, he was the yiling patriarch after all.

Just as Wei Wuxian observed the body he saw a shadow aproaching hi rapidly and dodged, despite this he noticed the leader of the Lan boys defend him as well. The boy held the culprit, Madam Mo while she fought against his grasp to fet to her. As she fought she continously yelled, "murderer" and "let me go", the entire time Wei Wuxian watched her expressionlessly.

The Lan boy felt he should calm the aggrieved mother first before anything, "your son has had his energy sucked out... this had to be done by an evil being" he explained calmly but the woman wouldn't budge.

Turning to Wei Wuxian and yelling, "You're out of your mind!" As she tried to excape the Lan's grip, those words echoed on Wuxian's mind, he remembered hearing them so often before, and here they were back to bite him 13 years later.

He took a deep breathe and walked oast them, he put his hand inside the corpses sleeve and pulled something out. This was none other than the spirit attraction flag. He handed it to the Lan boy as both him and madam mo went silent now.

Wei Wuxian went to stand in a corner as he watched the boy try to calmly explain to the mother what this meant. She understood yet she couldn't accept her son's own stupidity was what killed him. She turned to he husband, grabbing, shaking and hitting the man as she demanded he do something.

The man pushed her away and she fell to the ground, one of the female servants was quick to help her. "You-" the lady started seeing the man's expression she hesitated. "You get out of here!" She eventually yelled and A'Tong who was next to his master helped the man stand.

They left the hall and as they did Zhan Feng aproached Wei Wuxian, "how did you know?" He whispered an the shorter girl shook her head, "not important" she said and the man actually let the matter go. Yet he grew anxious, the situation was really not a good one, just as he was about to tell her to leave again a yell was heard from outside and everyone ran out.

Madam Mo's husband was lying dead on the floor, Wei Wuxian breath hitched. Seeing her husband dead right after her only son, the woman fainted, Zhan Feng was in between the two women and held her so she didn't fall before passing her to A'Ding, the female servant from earlier.

The Lans were checking on the body and on A'Tong who stuttered over his account of what had happened. Wei Wuxian began to feel this children would really not be able to take care of the situation. As some of the disciples went inside, two remained outside and he heard their conversation, "have you sent the signal?" The one who'd helped him earlier asked and the other nodded.

"But if there aren't any elders nearby no one will come to help us" he said wearily and the older nodded, "We must fight until help comes" he said determined before they both walked inside.

Wei Wuxian was intrigued, Zhan Feng was still next to him and he asked lazely, "have you pucked up yhe names of those two boys?" He asked and the man nodded, "Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi, the former is the one in charge of this mission, the latter is part of the disciples he brought with him" the man informed fully and Wuxian nodded his head in understanding.

"We should go inside, a'yu" the man spoke and though Wuxian cringed at the nickname he still followed behind the older man. Seeing as he was behind a tall figure and no one else was around he took the chance to lift his sleeve, and just as he'd guessed, two cuts had dissappeared from his arm.

It really was a lucky shot, the evil summoning flags were made by him, and the Lan disciples seemed to have made use of them that was why his first thought was that the boy carried one on him. Whatever the flags summoned was rather viscious and killed two people for him and the pact understood it as beung done by him.. he could only chuckle at that.

As they walked into the hall, A'Tong was now silent as people still tried to question him. The man suddenly brought his hand up to his own neck and started to stanglw it. The Lan disicples were quick to action trying the hardest to pry the hand away but nothing worked.

And soon a crack was heard.

The boy's body fell nimbly to the ground. Wei Wuxian was amused to say the least, but he didn't comment remained watching.

"G-ghost!" Someone shouted and many frightened yells followed his. "There's an ibvisible ghost" as they yelled people began to run around and leaving the hall.

Lan Jingyi, the Lan disciple from earlier tried stopping them, "stop running, stop running!" He yelled yet many ignore and ran out of the hall. Only a few people were left in the hall now, Jingy sighed while Sizhui shook his head before making his way to where A'Tong's body was. The man was tightly hugged by the female servant from earlier who let go when she saw hi aproach.

As soon as he crouched near the body he realised something was wrong and turned to where the father and son's bodies were. Wei Wuxian smirked, he had noticed when they were outside, neither Mo Ziyuan nor hus father had one arm, yet how come they were both missing their left arm after they had died?

A'Ding also gasped, only after letting go did she notice, and she crawled away from the boy while crying and shouting, "His left arm, A'Tong's left arm is missing!" She yelled and every one remaining in the hall now paid attention to her except for madam Mo who was unconscious since earlier.

Wei Wuxian took this as cue and began laughing loudly.
