Chapter 2

As they both rushed to their classes, the professor gave them both a stern look, as if she almost said "One more time and you both are out". But instead, the two just received a sigh. "See me after class Ms. Xilonen. You too Ms. Chasca" She said solemnly, as the first period started.

Xilonen finished her work quickly, as she fell asleep with the book on her head: obviously not caring about what other people think of her. Even though the teachers were not very fond of her, she had always received straight A's. Nobody could argue that she didn't deserve them, not even the head mistress.

As the bell finally rang, Xilonen bolted from her seat, almost leaving the door as a hand grabbed her wrist. She sighed, knowing it was Chasca's. "Come on, we need to see the professor-" She said, her grip slightly faltering from the contents of the day. "Oh fine. You can go, I know she only wants to see me anyways" Xilonen says, a bit defeated. "Alright then- I'll see you in the dorms?" "Yeah, It'll be only a minute" Xilonen promises, as she heads to the room.

"Professor?" She whispers, hoping nobody would be in there. She peeked farther in the room, annoyed that she was indeed there. "Sit dear" She says, gesturing to the empty seat perpendicular to her. "May we discuss something? It's about your- tardiness" She says, obviously unamused. "Yes professor" Xilonen replies, not paying her full attention. "Look, I'll get straight to the point. You're one of the most brilliant minds in this school, and I'm sure you are well aware that it's not easy to get past these doors, let alone score higher than anybody else, yes?" She starts, Xilonen half heartedly nodding while looking out the window, her mind elsewhere. "Xilonen, I don't want to expel you, but if you continue not putting your best effort-" "Yes professor, I know. We've had this talk before" Xilonen replies, standing up. "I appreciate the talk, but I have- other places to be. Have a good evening". She says, before walking away, leaving the professor confused- the nerve that one student can display, is incredible yet annoying at the same time.
