PHOENIX
The jet ride is only 3 hours from New York to Puerto Rico. Once we get off the jet, the humidity smacks us straight in the face. Luckily, I wore my hair in a ponytail so it won't frizz too much. Poor Angel has her hair in a hat to calm the frizz.
The limo drive is only 40 minutes from the airport but the sites are incredible. Palm trees line the highway, blue skies with fluffy white clouds above. The weather is warm but thankfully the limo has air conditioning so it's comfortable. Angel and I are looking out the window like a couple of kids on a school bus going on their first field trip. Both men are on their phones, probably getting updates from Lyle who had to stay behind.
The traffic does remind me a little of New York. We arrive at the Ritz Carlton in the early afternoon and are escorted to our separate villas which shares a patio that leads to a private pool and out to the beach with white sands.
Rook opens the door to our room. My eyes are drawn to the spectacular view of the beach since the back wall is a floor to ceiling window and the curtains are drawn open. The king size bed is off to the right while the tv hangs on the opposite wall. I make my way inside the room and find the luxurious bathroom that has dual marble sinks, an open shower which includes a rain shower head and a back door that leads to an outside private shower. The stand-alone soaking tub looks inviting and can probably seat two comfortably.
"Do you like it?" Rook asks as he leans against the door frame of the bathroom, watching my every move.
I turn to face him with a bright smile on my face. "I love it. It's unbelievable."
He gives me a smile as he walks towards the floor to ceiling window which is actually the patio door which slides open completely, so it feels like the outside is part of the room. I gasp. It has a little sofa against the wall, and a table with two chairs on our side. The floor is tiled which starts in the room and continues to the patio. It's like our own private paradise.
I join him outside to see the spectacular view of the clear blue ocean. I close my eyes and smell the salty air and hear the waves gently crash on the shore. So peaceful. I feel an arm go around my waist as Rook pulls me closer to him. Before I can open my eyes, I feel his lips on mine. For now, I'm going to pretend this is our honeymoon and Rook is my doting husband who adores me. Hey, a girl can dream.
My hands go into his hair, which is becoming a new habit, to bring him closer.
"This is amazing!" Cam says from across the way as we stop kissing. Angel and Cam are standing on their side of the patio.
We pull apart reluctantly. Rook looks at his watch. "I'd like to take you to a restaurant Bishop and I found when we came here a few years back but first, we have a helicopter tour in an hour."
Rook and Cam share a look which I can't decipher. My attention goes straight to Cam who looks a little nervous. He rubs the back of his neck which usually suggests he's tense. I notice he wipes his palms down his pants before he leads Angel back to their room.
"Is something going on?" I ask Rook but he just shakes his head and walks back into the room. Well now my curiosity is peaked since Cam is as transparent as glass and Rook looks like he knows something. I'll just have to dig deeper and find out what's going on.
The helicopter tour was amazing. Seeing the island from above makes one appreciate the beauty and the history. Dinner was delicious. The little restaurant Rook took us to is a family-owned restaurant. The cook was actually the owner's grandmother. The waiter was the owner's son. It felt like we were in their dining room instead of a restaurant. The island cuisine was delicious. I don't think I've tried so many different dishes in my life and hearing Rook speak Spanish was something out of my wet dream. He did mention he spoke three languages which I find super sexy. Yep, he's getting laid tonight.
