A young girl walking down the sidewalk, as she stopped at a crosswalk, watching the cars go by

'Geez! This is so nerve-wracking. My name is

Pomni Freeman, I'm starting my sophomore year at this new school! But there's only one problem... I'm a paranoid, anxiety-containing, mentally fragile girl! I've always been like this since I was a child. Ugh... It's too much for me…’

‘Hi there, are you a new student!?’ A feminine voice called out to Pomni; she quickly looked back, seeing a girl in a uniform similar to hers, also with long curly red hair, one light blue eye, and one black. "Y -y-yes! I-i am!” Pomni responded

“Do you know where to go? If not, I'd be happy to show you and give you a tour, if allowed of course.” The girl said happily

“T-thank you... That'd be... Nice.” The girl let a please sigh I can see someone got the first-day jitters. Everything's gonna be okay, new stuff. We've all been through this.

“Y-yeah... Pomni responded, still worried”

The light suddenly turned green, letting the people walk by as the cars stopped. The girl grabbed Pomni's hand and ran off, guiding her

“W-why are we running!?” Pomni asked

“Because I show you around and we can't do it while hanging out here.”

8 Minutes Later, The pair made it to the school. Pomni bent over, breathing hard as she tried to catch her breath “S-sorry, I should've asked if you were okay to do this!”

“I-it-it's fine!” She struggled to say. As she looked up, her face turned pale, seeing groups of kids walking around and talking in the courtyard

“Wh-what is this place?” Pomni asked, slightly panicking

“Uh... It's a courtyard, Have you seen one before?” The girl asked “Not at all…” Pomni answered. “Weird, I thought all schools had them, anyway, let's go see the principal! So we can get your classes straightened out.” The girl walked ahead, having Pomni quickly staying close to her back. Looking around frantically.

'This isn't good! I feel so out of place! Feels like I have millions of eyes staring at me!' The pair entered the cafeteria. “This is the cafeteria, and that room there is the principal office.”

“The office sitting in the Cafeteria? Why?” Pomni asked. “Because most school fights happen in the cafe, that's why when it's time to eat, security goes as well, students here. Wasn't it like that at your old school?” The girl asked.

“N-no, most students would've fought after school, just so it wouldn't be stopped by teachers and other staff.”

The girl knocked on the door. “Come in!” A lady sitting at the front desk said. “Hey, this is the new student, she needs her classes.” Pomni walked inside the office timidly. “I'll be out here waiting for you.” The girl said. She closed the door and sat in the hair outside of the office.

Pomni stepped into the office, her heart racing and her demeanor shy. The door clicked shut behind her, and outside, the girl settled herself into a nearby chair, casting a reassuring smile. “I’ll be right here waiting for you,” she promised, the warmth in her voice filling the air.

After what felt like an eternity, four minutes ticked by before Pomni emerged from the office, her expression a mixture of fear and uncertainty. She clutched her schedule tightly, her knuckles white.
