Geralt is forced to choose between a poison or jaskier's death

The contract was suposed to be simple. Geralt had a simple plan but when are things ever simple with jaskier around.

The towns people hired geralt to get rid of some creature that is drawing the men into the forest at night.

The man are drawn into it while their wives watch in horror. The men never return.

Geralt had tried to get the stubborn bard to stay at the inn where it was safe.

"What if something happens to you? I will not let you go out there alone. You don't even know what it is" jaskier argued and geralt growled

"All the more reason for you to stay here" geralt says grabing his swords and potions bag

"No. I will not stay here while you are out there. I am coming" jaskier says already at their room door with his shoes on.

His lute was still laying on a chair but he figured it was best to leave it there so it doesn't get damaged.

Geralt wanted to argue but he knew it wasn't worth it and he was losing daylight.

"Fine" geralt says and they head off

They leave roach not wanting her to get lost and the mud was like quick sand. She would have gotten trapped.

Once deep in the forest they stop. Jaskier leans against a tree and looks at the Witcher.

He watches the gold eyes look around seeing farther then his human eyes could even try.

He stayed quiet knowing geralt was listening for any threats. Anything that would make this spot unsafe to stop at.

The witcher nods and puts his potions bag down. Jaskier relaxes at this knowing it meant they were safe for now.

He sits on the ground still pressed against the tree as geralt digs into the bag.

He pulls out 2 potions and tucks them into his belt for later.

"How are we going to find it if we don't even know what it is?" Jaskier asks and geralt hums

Before geralt can reply with anything there is a flash of light. Geralt's medallion vibrates due to the magic but it's too late.

The two of them are knocked out.

When jaskier wakes up he groans feeling the hard ground. He pushes up only to hiss in pain.

His leg hurt like someone had tried to bend it in a way its not suposed to. Jaskier looks around trying to figure out where they are.

They are on a cliff. Jaskier looks around and sees they are in a room.

It looks like old ruins. There isn't any exits that jaskier can see but he is distracted by the next thing he sees.

It's geralt and he rushes to his side. He shakes the witcher slightly and the man only grunts.

"Wake up damn it" jaskier says shaking harder.

Geralt snaps awake and sits up looking around. The witcher gets to his feet going to reach for his swords but they are gone.

So is his potions bag. He growls and looks around for the thing that did this.

Jaskier hides behind geralt. Geralt does his best to block jaskiers whole body with his own.

A women walks out of one of the darkness. Suddenly the room is lit by handle light.

Jaskier blinks to get used to the sudden light and he sees the women. He knows she must be a witch
