The atmosphere feels heavy and strained, with an undercurrent of unease palpable in the air of the Oberoi family. Everyone was worried about Agastya and Avyansh. Avyansh had not left his room since his fathers demise. He didn't come out of his room the whole day.

Hearing all this caused curiosity to grow in Vaiga's mind. She always wondered what was behind that closed door and she somehow knew that whatever was happening now was somewhere related to that closed door. She was determined to open that door tonight. She would go to any extent to protect her family, especially her husband.

Agastya was all ready to leave for office. He came wearing his watch and saw his mother was sitting on the couch all tensed. He walked and sat beside her."What happened, maa?" He asked her softly knowing that the reason behind her tension is he himself.

She was still not recovered by her husband's sudden demise and she couldn't afford to lose her children as well. She looked up at him and frowned.

"Where are you going today? Didn't I ask you to do work from home?" She snapped at him. He looked at her and said, "But there's an important meeting today. And I have to be present there. And you didn't answer my question". He tried to reason out but she was not ready to listen.

"You want to know what happened? Then listen, I am worried about you both, I have lost my husband and I don't want to lose my children as well. But here you are not at all concerned about it. Have you ever thought what would happen to Vaiga if something happened to you?" She yelled at him as tears left her eyes. He hugged her and tried to console her. "Nothing will happen to me or avi . And about vaiga, I am sure, as long as she is with me nothing will happen to me." He looked at her and blinked in an assuring manner with a small smile.

"But still you are not going out. Stay at home and do your work. Even Avi won't be going to the office now. I have called your and his PA and said you both won't be coming to the office for a few days." Saying this she stood up and went to her room.

He looked at her retreating figure and sighed. He can't do anything now. As he was about to move towards the stairs his phone rang. He answered the call and was moving up stairs suddenly he bumped with something or someone.

His attention was fully on the call that he didn't see Vaiga rushing down the stairs. Vaiga slips down the stairs, but just as she's about to hit the ground, Agastya grabs her, steadying her fall.

"I will call you later." He said to the next person on phone and ended the call. He looked at her, and for the first time in three years he realised that his wife was beautiful. So gorgeous that he couldn't take his eyes off even after seeing her struggles to get out of his grip.

"Agastya leave me. I'm getting late for work." She said and looked at him. He was still in daze looking at her. She had no other option.

She slapped him. Lightly.

Not too hard not too soft. He looked at her and realised he was holding her in his arms. He immediately left her. Before he could apologise, she said "I'm sorry. I slapped you. Is it paining? You were not leaving me and I was getting late for work that's why I slapped you". She kept her eyes down while saying all this. Agastya looked at her and a small smile adored his face. He felt his heartbeat increasing per minute. He could hear that.

Getting no response from him she looked up and saw he was smiling at her. This was the first time she saw him smiling. "Come I will drop you". He said and started to descend the stairs.

"No, I will go with the driver. You don't have to come". She stopped him and stood in front of him. "Stay home. Don't go anywhere unless I come home." She said and soon she realised she was not telling him she was ordering him. She looked at him with wide eyes and saw him looking at her with a smirk.

"Are you ordering me?" He asked her and took a step ahead. Seeing him coming close to her she took one step back. "I-I was not o-ordering you. I j-j-". Before she complete her sentence he said "Don't worry. I know what you are trying to say. And yes I won't go out unless you come back, okay?" She sighed in relief and nodded her head.

"Can I walk you to the door at least?"He asked her with a smile. Looking at his smile she nodded her head. He took her hands in his and looked at her. "Can I ?" He asked her and she smiled at him. Seeing her smile he knew she gave him her permission. He walked her towards the door and stood outside until she sat inside and the car left.

It was evening and everyone was sitting in the hall. Of course Agastya was not there. His wife told him not to get out so he sat in their room and did the office work. The door of the room opened and he saw Vaiga coming inside with a tired look. She gave him a weak smile, took her clothes and went directly to the washroom. She never touched anything after coming from the hospital. She is very particular about hygiene.

After a few minutes she came out looking all fresh and was about to go out when she heard a voice. " Won't you tell me about your day? You look tired. Was there any emergency surgery? " Agastya asked keeping his laptop and files aside to give her space to sit. She looked back and walked to him.

She sat in front of him and asked "What happened to you? Did you hit your head? Did I slap you too hard?" She asked him and started checking for his injuries. "Why? I can't ask my wife about her day?" He said in an irritated tone. She was shocked to see his behavior. He never cared about her and suddenly he is asking about her day.

"No I didn't mean that. You wanna know how my day went today, thik hai." She folded her legs and told him how she day went. He listened with his full concentration on her. He saw how her hands were moving while talking about some kid who ran in the corridors of the hospital to escape the injection.

He smiled at her and blamed him for missing all this for the last three years. Now he was determined to cherish every moment with her.

After all, he has a reason to live now.
