"Annihilate…. vessel…." Eiichi's whole body ran cold and the colour drained from his face. "Akari…"
He looked down at his own sword which was glowing with divine powers. The King of Heavens had bestowed his blessing over him.
"What of… her?" Eiichi managed to ask despite the lump in his throat. "If I kill him, she'll also…"
"For she is the sacrifice."
He didn't like it. He didn't like her being referred to as 'sacrifice'. Akari wasn't a sacrifice! She was. . . She was. . . . .
"....Why must she be sacrificed?" He looked down, gritting his teeth.
The King of Heavens remained unhinged by the brunette's hesitation. "A single soul for every mortals and extermination of evil is a valid transaction."
It was correct. If she is sacrificed, the King of Hell will be destroyed. Peace will return to human realm and the Heavens will also not be destructed.
Yet…
Why must she be the sacrifice?
According to the King, it was everyone for her, but to Eiichi, it was her for everyone. What of those to whom she meant something? Was she that disposable?
The King of Heavens noted his despair. "Behold this sight, Lucifer." His eyes went to the King of Hell causing havoc in the throne room. Eiichi followed suit and immediately made haste. With his sword, he cut through the ball of evil energy before it could hit his friends lying on the ground.
"If you do not proceed, your brethren shall be in danger. The evil shall not be satisfied without bloodshed."
Eiichi stood between his injured friends and the King of Hell in Akari's body. He was facing the greatest dilemma. Although it didn't look like the Akari he knew, it was Akari's body and any harm he caused to it would also harm her.
Eiichi tightened his grip on his sword, unsure of how to proceed with this situation. The logical and rational answer was obvious. But whenever this woman was involved, she chose anything but rational.
What should I do, Akari?
She suddenly appeared in his mind.
Her fiery…
"Excuse you." She pried off his grip on her. "First of all, stop referring to me as 'human'. I have a name. It's Tenshouin Akari."
Her awkwardness….
"What I'm trying to say is…." She averted her eyes and stared at her blue mug. "I'm sorry for not understanding you."
Her smiles….
With a smile, she extended her right hand. "I hope we can become Eiichi and Akari to each other now."
Her anger….
"Unforgivable…." Akari murmured. "To harm my friends…. is unforgivable!"
Her excitement….
"Hey, check out this jacket!" She held the hanger before him and observed him. "Red suits you the best!"
