The next morning, the soft light of dawn filled the small kitchen as Taehyung quietly worked, preparing breakfast. The moment brought back bittersweet memories of his mother, who always cooked for him whenever he visited home during vacations. He could almost hear her voice, feel her presence in the air, but now, it was just him, alone with those memories.

Lost in thought, Taehyung didn’t notice Jimin entering the kitchen until he heard a gentle voice behind him. “Tae?”

Startled, Taehyung turned to see Jimin standing there with a small, understanding smile. “You’re up early,” Jimin said, leaning against the doorway.

Taehyung nodded, his expression softening. “Just making breakfast."

Jimin's face softened at the mention of Taehyung’s mother. He walked closer, placing a comforting hand on Taehyung’s shoulder. “I know it’s hard. You miss her.”

Taehyung nodded, swallowing the lump in his throat. There was a moment of silence before Jimin spoke again, his tone more serious but gentle.

“Tae, I’ve been thinking… about Jungkook.”

Taehyung stiffened slightly, but Jimin continued. “I know things are complicated. But.. maybe you should give him a chance. He loves you, Tae. I’ve never seen him like this, not for anyone. He’s willing to do whatever it takes for you.”

Taehyung sighed, turning back to the stove. “It’s not that simple, minnie."

“I know it feels complicated,” Jimin said softly.

“But sometimes.. love isn’t about having all the answers. Maybe you should trust what you feel, not what you think you’re supposed to do.”

Jimin could see the hesitation in Taehyung’s eyes, the weight of uncertainty and fear. He stepped closer, lowering his voice as he continued to speak gently, trying to make Taehyung understand.

“Tae, I know you’re scared. I know you think you’re protecting him by pushing him away, but you don’t know everything.”

Taehyung looked up, confused. “What do you mean?”

Jimin sighed, his expression serious but compassionate. “Jungkook didn’t just fall for you and leave it at that. He told his family about you, Tae. He was honest with them.”

Taehyung’s eyes widened, his heart skipping a beat. “He.. told his family?”

Jimin nodded. “Yeah, and they didn’t take it well. His parents had already fixed his marriage to some rich girl, thinking it was the best thing for him. When Jungkook told them he loved you, they gave him a warning that either he leaves you and marries that girl, or he leaves them.”

Taehyung felt a sharp pang in his chest, unable to believe what he was hearing. “And.. what did he do?”

“He chose you, Tae,” Jimin revealed softly.

“He walked away from his parents, his wealth, his comfortable life. He left everything behind because he loves you that much. He’s out here with nothing, just hoping you’ll give him a chance.”

Taehyung’s heart clenched, guilt and sorrow swirling inside him. He hadn’t known the extent of Jungkook’s sacrifices. The reality of it weighed heavy on his mind, the thought of someone giving up everything for him, despite the fear and uncertainty.

Jimin stepped back slightly, giving Taehyung space to absorb his words.

“He’s not asking for much, Tae. He just wants to be with you. Don’t you think that’s worth giving him a chance?”
