The sunlight poured through the dormitory windows, casting soft, golden streaks across my bed. I stretched lazily under the covers, a slow smile spreading across my face as memories of last night drifted through my mind. My skin still tingled, every nerve alight with the memory of their touch. Theo and Mattheo, their hands, their mouths - everything about them had left me breathless, completely consumed. They had made me feel alive, wanted in ways I hadn't imagined possible. My body buzzed, remembering the heat, the intensity.
They both made me feel... wanted. Special.
I lingered in that warmth for a few moments longer, reveling in the afterglow of the night before. My lips curled at the thought of Theo's growl against my neck, the way Mattheo's hands had claimed me like I was his, and his alone. It was exhilarating, intoxicating - this game we'd been playing. I couldn't wait to see them today. They'd probably continue their teasing, maybe a knowing smirk or a glance from across the room.
I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood, my heart light as I dressed for the day. My stomach fluttered with anticipation of what was to come. Would Theo whisper something provocative in the hall? Would Mattheo's eyes linger on mine across the Great Hall?
My thoughts spun as I made my way down to breakfast, my steps quick, eager.
The Great Hall was bustling as usual, the hum of conversation filling the air. I spotted Kai and Avery already seated at the Ravenclaw table, chatting animatedly. As I approached, I stole a glance at the Slytherin table, my heart thudding in my chest, expecting to see them - Theo, Mattheo, maybe even Draco.
But... nothing.
They didn't look my way. Not once. Mattheo's head was turned, deep in conversation with Blaise, Theo chuckling at something someone had said.
I frowned, but quickly shook it off. Maybe they hadn't seen me. The Great Hall was busy, after all.
"Morning!" Kai greeted as I sat down, oblivious to the sinking feeling that had just started to creep into my stomach. "You missed it! Some major drama at the bonfire last night when you were strolling around with Felix."
I forced a smile, though my mind was still on the Slytherins. "Really? What happened?"
Kai leaned in, eyes gleaming with excitement. "Two Hufflepuffs were caught snogging behind the woodpile, but apparently, one of them was already seeing someone else. Total chaos. The girlfriend found them and started screaming - it was like something out of a soap opera."
Avery snorted into her goblet. "Oh, the drama."
I tried to pay attention to their conversation, to laugh along with them, but my gaze kept flicking over to the Slytherin table. Still nothing. Theo hadn't so much as glanced in my direction. Mattheo... well, his back was turned, entirely uninterested in anything outside his little circle.
I swallowed the knot forming in my throat.
"So," Kai continued, oblivious to my distraction. "Then the girlfriend starts throwing hexes - nothing major, just minor jinxes, but still. Ryan had to come and break it up, but by then, half the school was watching."
Avery shook her head, smirking. "Only at a Hogwarts bonfire, right?"
I nodded along, forcing a laugh that didn't quite reach my eyes. Their voices blended into the background as I kept glancing over at the Slytherins, my pulse quickening every time Mattheo moved, only for disappointment to flood me when I realized none of those movements were directed at me.
"Cat?"
Kai's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. He was staring at me, an eyebrow raised. "You okay? You look... distracted."
