Eleanor walked into her office, her mind focused on the tasks she had set for the day. She was unaware that the atmosphere in the room had changed—subtly tense, as if the air had grown heavier. Stephen had slipped into her office unnoticed, standing silently in the corner, his presence unsettling and invasive.

As she approached her desk, the hairs on the back of her neck prickled with a sense of discomfort, though she couldn't quite place it. She set down her bag, and when she turned around, she froze.

Stephen stood there, too close for comfort.

"Stephen," she said, her voice caught somewhere between surprise and frustration, her eyes widening at his sudden appearance. “What are you doing here?”

He didn’t answer at first, his eyes lingering on her in a way that made her skin crawl. There was something darker in his gaze today, an intensity that felt invasive, almost predatory.

“I just thought I’d... check on you,” he finally said, his tone too casual for the tension in the room. “See how you’re doing.”

Eleanor took a step back, instinctively creating distance between them, her heart beginning to race. She didn’t like the way he was looking at her, nor the fact that he had entered her office without her knowing. Her fingers itched to grab her phone, to alert Blake or the trio, but she didn’t want to provoke Stephen into anything rash.

“I’m fine,” she replied coolly, trying to keep her voice steady. “But you should leave.”

Stephen’s lips curled into a half-smile, but there was no warmth in it. “Oh, I’m not in any rush,” he said, stepping closer. “You know, Eleanor, we have unfinished business.”

Just as he was about to say more, the door to her office burst open, and Roberto, along with Alejandro and Leonardo, entered the room. The atmosphere shifted immediately, their presence filling the space with a protective energy.

Stephen stiffened, his posture changing as the trio locked eyes with him, the tension in the room crackling like static. They didn’t say a word, but their body language was enough—this was a warning.

Eleanor felt a rush of relief, her pulse slowly calming as she took a breath.

Stephen glanced at them, his expression briefly flickering with uncertainty before he straightened, his usual arrogance returning. “I’ll be going,” he said, his voice tight, before quickly exiting the room, the door slamming behind him.

Roberto turned to Eleanor, his expression shifting from concern to reassurance. “You okay?” he asked softly.

She nodded, exhaling deeply. “I am now.”

Alejandro and Leonardo exchanged a look, their protective instincts kicking in. They knew this wasn’t the last they’d see of Stephen, but for now, Eleanor was safe—and that was all that mattered.

Eleanor, still trying to steady her breathing, looked up at Alejandro, Roberto, and Leonardo. "How did you guys know?" she asked, her voice trembling with gratitude but still shaken by the encounter.

Alejandro stepped forward, gently tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "You're under tight security, Eleanor," he reassured her softly. "We've been keeping a close eye on everything. The second we noticed something was off, we came."

Leonardo nodded, his expression protective. "We’re not letting anything slip by. Stephen won’t get another chance to try anything."

Roberto, standing close by, gave her a warm smile, his presence comforting. "You really think we’d leave you unprotected with someone like him lurking around?" he said, a hint of seriousness in his voice. "We’ve got you covered, always."
