Temporarily

Rasazy blinked in confusion, her expression deadpan as she stared at the object in front of her. "Is that... a whole box of Oreos?"

Standing across from her, just as expressionless, Miss Grace held up the package with a calm nod. "Yes."

Rasazy, now even more puzzled, glanced between Miss Grace and the box. "How exactly does a box of Oreos stop Miss Circle from attacking us for a whole day? What’s the logic here?"

Miss Grace sighed lightly, as if this were something she had expected to explain. "Do you recall what I mentioned to you some time ago about Miss Circle and her brother? That argument they had about KitKats and Oreos?"

"Yeah, I remember," Rasazy replied, her confusion still apparent. "But what does that have to do with now?"

A faint smile tugged at the corners of Miss Grace’s lips, though her tone remained steady. "It’s quite simple, really. Miss Circle has a deep fondness for Oreos—obsessively so. It’s her favorite snack, and a box of them is more than enough to calm her down, even make her cooperative. Think of it as a bribe. Offer her a box, and she won’t lay a finger on you or your 'friends' for the entire day."

Rasazy stared at the package in Miss Grace’s hands, trying to wrap her mind around the absurd simplicity of it all. "You’re telling me... a box of Oreos is enough to stop her from causing chaos for an entire day?"

Miss Grace’s expression remained serious, almost matter-of-fact. "Yes. It works every time. Today, consider yourself safe under the power of Oreos."

Rasazy let out a disbelieving sigh, running a hand through her hair. "Just for today, though?"

Miss Grace nodded. "Only today. After that, you're on your own. Miss Circle doesn’t stay docile forever."

Still trying to process the bizarre temporary solution, Rasazy hesitated before reaching out for the box. "Well... I guess I’ll take what I can get."

Miss Grace placed the box in her hands. "You’ll find it more effective than you think."

As Rasazy glanced down at the package, a faint, bemused smile played on her lips. "Oreos, huh? Who would’ve thought.”

The classroom was eerily quiet in the early morning hours, bathed in soft, pale light filtering through the high windows. Desks sat neatly in rows, the typical stillness of a schoolroom disturbed only by the faint ‘scritch’ ‘scritch’ of metal against metal. At the front of the room, Miss Circle sat alone at her desk, a wicked grin playing across her face as she meticulously sharpened the deadly tip of her compass prosthetic. The gleam in her eyes was as sharp as the point she honed with glee, anticipation bubbling within her.

Today was another day to hunt the failures. Another chance to maim, to kill, and to eat those who had survived by some miracle the last time she’d crossed their path. The mere thought sent a shiver of excitement down her spine, her hand working the compass with renewed vigor.

The door creaked softly. Miss Circle didn’t look up at first, assuming it was just the wind playing tricks on her. But then she felt a presence. She paused, her hand stilling mid-sharpen, her eyes narrowing in suspicion.

Standing at the doorway was Rasazy, a student Miss Circle had only recently taken an interest in before, now all she wants is to maim that girl for interrupting and protecting that Failure “Claire”.

"Well, well, well," Miss Circle purred, her voice dripping with menace as she rose slowly from her desk, the compass glinting ominously in the dim light. She stared at Rasazy with a predatory smile, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. "What do we have here? An interloper of Claire, no less. How cute. Aren’t you a bit early for what you’re looking for?" Her chuckle was dark, almost feral. "Heheheh."
