The decision to try again wasn't easy, but it was a decision they both made together. Aanya and Meera knew that their relationship wouldn't be perfect, that there would still be challenges and moments of doubt. But they also knew that what they had was worth fighting for.
Their first few weeks back together were tentative, careful, as they navigated the delicate process of rebuilding trust. They talked more openly than they ever had before—about their fears, their insecurities, their hopes for the future. And slowly, the walls that had been built between them began to crumble.
One evening, as they sat on the rooftop of Aanya's apartment, watching the stars flicker in the night sky, Meera took Aanya's hand in hers.
"You know," Meera said softly, "I used to think that love had to be easy. That if it was hard, it wasn't meant to be."
Aanya smiled, her fingers lacing with Meera's. "I used to think that too."
"But I think I was wrong," Meera continued, her voice filled with quiet conviction. "Love isn't supposed to be easy. It's supposed to be real. And what we have—it's real, Aanya."
Aanya looked at Meera, her heart full of love and gratitude for the girl who had turned her world upside down. "I don't care if it's hard," Aanya said, her voice steady. "As long as it's with you."
Meera smiled, leaning in to press a soft, lingering kiss to Aanya's lips. "Forever, then?"
Aanya smiled back, her heart full of hope for the first time in a long while. "Forever."
