chapter 002

The blonde's skin was like ice, "Who are you?"

Hope pushed his arm away from her neck. She flipped the move on the boy shoving him against a nearby tree.

"Who I am?" she gasped, "who are you?"

The boy tried coming towards her, but Hope was ready this time, "Consto."

The boy was suddenly froze in place, "how did you do that?" He asked through his barely moving mouth.

Hope took a moment before responding to observe him. The boy was wearing a long black coat, with a white button up. His hair was slicked back and he stood with complete confidence despite being frozen. Hope recognized this kind of arrogance - only an old vampire would have it. She would know, having seen that same stance from her family.

"I'm a witch," she responded, testing the waters.

His eyes narrowed, "Witches don't exist."

Interesting, Hope was going to save that little bit of information for later, "Well only one of us is frozen so .  . ."

The boy gave her a deadly glare, but it didn't stop Hope's prompting, "I'm guessing with your enhanced strength you're either a vampire or werewolf."

The boy scoffed at werewolf. Clearly a vampire then. But the boy still kept this mouth shut prompting the Mikaelson to walk closer to him. She started to circle him like a cat with its prey.

"You want something, clearly. The whole chokehold proved that. And I want something too. I think we can help each other."

"And what is it that you want?" He asked patiently.

This tone interested the Mikaelson. He was very calm for someone who had never experienced magic before. She tried to listen to his heartbeat, but heard nothing so clearly a vampire.

"Information," the tribrid stated simply.

"Let me go, and I might tell you want you want to know."

Hope hated to say it, but she might need this supernatural more than he currently needed her. Yet, his voice annoyed the crap out of her. She could practically smell his arrogance. The tribrid had half a mind to leave him where he stood, but her desperation to get home overtook her pride.

Plus, if he ran again, she would just magic him.

She released the blonde, and the boy shook it off, "What do you want to know?" He asked

"What are you?"

He hesitated for a brief second, sizing her up, "A vampire."

"Where's you daylight ring?"

"My what?"

"We're in the shade right now, but you must have had to pass through the sun once today to get to me."
