Siobhan's POV;
I had woken up in bed, next to Vivian. I looked at my phone and saw the time; 5AM. I couldn't remember how I got go bed. I was parched, so I got out of bed and headed downstairs, into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water. I then went back upstairs, peaked in to Jamie's room to check on him. Peacefully sleeping, holding his Paw Patrol stuffed animals.
Smiling, I closed his bedroom door and went back to the bedroom. Vivian was still sound asleep, looking as beautiful as ever. I set the water bottle down on my night stand and get back into bed. Viv begins to stir, realizing I was awake. "Bon, are you okay?" Viv asked me, sitting up. "I was parched, so I got a bottle of water from the kitchen," I explain to her.
"Looks like you and Jamie had a good day. When I got home from work, you were cuddling on the couch, sleeping," she said interlocking our fingers, smiling. "How did I end up in bed, Viv?" I asked. "I put Jamie to bed first, and than I carried you to bed, as well," she says, looking at me.
"You carries me to bed? You didn't have too Viv," I say blushing. "I will do anything and everything for you darling. You watched Jamie when didn't have too. I'm proud of you for even offering. What did you guys get up too whilst I was at work?" Viv asked. "We did soft play, went into the backyard, and eventually, the park. He had an hour nap and wanted hot chocolate. Had dinner and wanted to watch a movie, he was getting tired. I offered to bring him to bed, but he wanted cuddles instead," Siobhan explained, making my heart melt.
"I'm exhausted, but I can't sleep," I say yawning. "You are definitely tired babe. How can I help you sleep, darling?" Vivian asks, rubbing my back. I look at her before asking, "how about a cuddle? I just need your warmth and comfort," I say, feeling vulnerable. Vivian gives me a warm smile. "Of course darling. Come here," she says opening her arms to me. I immediately lay beside her, as she envelopes me in her arms. I inhale her scent and begin to feel tired. "Get some rest darling. Sweet dreams, darling," Viv says kissing the top of my head. Seconds later, I was asleep.
A few hours later...
I'm woken up by my alarm. My eyes open and I shut it off. I stretched my arm out to Vivian's side of the bed to feel it empty. I sit up, seeing a hand written note on her pillow.
Bon,I was called into work this morning. By the time you read this, I've already left for work. I'm dropping Jamie off at nursery, so you don't need to worry about that getting him there. Good luck with your meeting today. I love you and I'll see you later.
Love, Vivian.
I smiled as I finished reading the letter. I graze my thumb over her name. I honestly love this woman so much. She truly has no idea how much she has saved me. The only person who saw past my prickly demeanor. I get put of bed, setting her letter on my night stand. I was so nervous about my meeting with Autumn and Reece. I had no idea what to expect. I showered, did my hair and makeup, got dressed and went downstairs to make a coffee.
My stomach was in absolute knots. I couldn't eat, my appetite was replaced with nerves and anxiety. As I got into the kitchen, I see a drawing that Jamie has made. I pick it up and almost start crying. It's a house, with three people standing in front of it. Jamie, Vivian and from the looks of it, me. Names written above each of us; mummy, Jamie and mummy Bon.
My hand immediately covers my mouth. He sees me as his other mum. A single tear falls down my face, wiping it away. I smile and put the drawing on the fridge. I make a coffee, grab my phone and purse and head out the door. I make it too the nursery in about 15 minutes. I park my car and head inside. Entering the building, I feel a strong wave of anxiety.
I am about too head into the family room for the meeting, and Marjorie calls out, "Siobhan. Hello my love, you alright?" Marjorie has never said that to me. "Hello, Marjorie. I'm alright. Just here for a meeting with Autumn and Reece," I explain. "I see. I heard you left Roger," she says. My stomach turns, thinking about him. "Yes, I did. I needed to get out, so I did," I explain trying not to cry.
"I'm so proud of you, Siobhan. I knew you could do it," Marjorie says before coming over to me, hugging me. Normally, I don't hug anybody other than Vivian and Jamie, but I needed one. Hugging her was comforting. I break the hug. "I don't know what the meeting is about, I'm a little scared," I say as I feel anxious. "Don't be, everything will be fine," Marjorie says reassuring me.
"Thank you Marjorie. I'll let you know how it goes," I smile at her before heading to the family room. I reach for the doorknob, taking a deep breathe, and going in. Autumn and Reece are both sitting beside each other, with smiles across their faces, documents spread across the table. "Good morning Siobhan. I'm glad you agreed to meet with us," Reece says flipping through some of the documents.
"Right, let's get down get down to the point of the meeting," Autumn says. "Siobhan, we are aware that you left our father a few days before he was arrested. He has signed over the nurseries to Reece and I. He has been removed from any and all access to the nurseries. I am incredibly proud of you for making that decision," Autumn says, smiling warmly.
"Thank you Autumn," I say fidgeting, shocked by the news. "We asked you to come, hoping you would agree to return to the nursery, permanently. We are also aware that during the time you were with our dad, he was withholding your wages from you," Reece says, again flipping through more documents, looking very upset. "Um, yes. I didn't get them. Roger said I didn't need them because he would provide for me, which was obviously a lie," I say feeling overwhelmed.
"Siobhan it's okay, we have your back. Now that our father is in prison for life, to which there are many reason as to why, we would like for you to return. We will also give you the wages you made whilst with our father that were withheld from you. As well as a pay rise," Autumn says, sliding a document to me, outlining every detail.
"We won't force you, Siobhan. You dealt with enough of that while you were with him. Aut and I are nothing like our dad. Please read it over and sign if you want too. You are an asset here and we know that you deserve to be here," Reece says, calmly.
"I do have some concerns," I begin. "What would they be?" Autum asks. "Will he get out of prison? If he does, I don't want him coming near me, Vivian or Jamie," I ask, ensuring Jamie and Vivian's safety. Reece smiles, "I always knew you had a thing for Vivian. He won't be getting out, and you three will always be protected. I promise," he says.
"Would I be back in head office or here?" I inquire. "Head office mostly, but if coverage is needed here, you'll come into the nursery to help. You did great work at head office and we would like it to stay that way," Autumn says, smiling.
"Final question," I say picking up the pen, signing the document, "when do I return?" I ask putting the pen down, smiling. They look at each other and than at me. "Whenever you are ready," Reece says. "There is no rush. As of today, you are back on the board, full privileges. Expect the compensation wages to be in your new bank account Reece and I have set up for you," Autumn says, sliding a new bank card and a packet of bank information to me.
We all stand up and a shake hands with them both. I also hug them both. "I really appreciate this you guys. I loved my job here and I am happy to be back. I'll be in first thing tomorrow morning," I say letting go of Autumn. "Welcome back Siobhan, we will see you tomorrow," Autumn says before I exit the family room with a sense of pride. I'm getting my life back.
