As the warm glow of our newfound happiness enveloped us, my phone buzzed in my pocket, pulling me back to reality. I glanced at Theo, who had an intense look on his face as he answered the call.

"Hello? Officer Harris?" he said, his tone shifting from relaxed to alert.

I felt my heart race as I leaned in closer, straining to catch every word.

"Yeah, I understand. We'll be right there." He hung up and turned to us, urgency etched on his features.

"They've found Maya. Her coordinates connected with the local network, but they couldn't locate Tristan or Sarah."

The air shifted around us, heavy with tension. Eric's expression hardened, determination flickering in his eyes.

"We need to go. Now." Without hesitation, we rushed to Eric's car, the excitement of the earlier moments now replaced with a frantic energy.

As we sped through the winding roads, the weight of our mission settled on our shoulders like a heavy cloak.

"What do you think Maya is planning?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, the shadows of uncertainty creeping back in.

"I don't know, but we can't let her slip away again," Theo replied, glancing out the window as the trees blurred past us. Eric's knuckles turned white as he gripped the steering wheel.

"We'll get answers, and this time, we won't be distracted by anything else." Arriving at the location where Maya was found, we stepped out of the car, our hearts pounding with a mix of fear and resolve. The air felt charged, a storm brewing inside each of us as we approached the police perimeter.

Officer Harris stood at the edge, his brow furrowed in concern. "They've got her in custody, but we still need to search the area for Tristan and Sarah. You kids should wait here."

"No way," Eric interjected, shaking his head. "We're not leaving until we know what's going on."

"Yeah," I added, feeling a surge of adrenaline. "Maya might know where they are."Theo nodded, his eyes set on the scene before us.

"We need to stick together. Whatever happens next, we face it as a team."

As the officers began their search, we hovered nearby, a nervous energy pulsating between us. We exchanged glances, silently acknowledging the stakes of this confrontation. Maya was dangerous, and if she had been orchestrating everything behind the scenes, we were standing on the brink of something much larger than ourselves.

Moments later, the police vehicle pulled up, and a few officers emerged, leading Maya away. Her expression was a mixture of defiance and satisfaction, and as her gaze met mine, a shiver ran down my spine.

"Hey, Daisy!" she called out, a smirk playing on her lips. "Did you really think you could find Tristan without me? You're all just pawns in this game."

The officers tightened their grip on her, leading her toward the station. Eric stepped forward, anger flickering in his eyes.

"What have you done with them, Maya?"

Her laugh echoed in the silence, chilling me to the bone.

"You'll find out soon enough. But don't worry; I've made sure they're safe... for now."

With those words, she was taken away, leaving us in a whirlwind of uncertainty.

As we regrouped, I could feel the weight of the mystery pressing down on us.
