Welp, it was time. Cain wasn’t excited, nor was he that eager, but it had to be done. Not, actually, but, if he wanted The Sea Devil’s help, he’d need to. Cain contemplating, wondering while he stood in his treehouse, ‘do I REALLY need his help?’. After all, he never really clarified WHAT help he was going to offer. That damned siren, thing, could just give him a better pair of sneakers and consider it ‘help’. Cain groaned, having just now realized that he could be getting his leg pulled. It was too late, now, though, Cain had already requested that Rocky bring him over. And, while there was a small chance that Beo was absent, that thought was quickly diminished as Cain walked through the doorway, spotting the large wolf man almost instantly. “Damn,” Cain muttered under his breath, crossing his arms. Rocky, oblivious to Cain’s intentions, went off to the kitchen, wanting to grab them some snacks. While he was off doing that, Cain carefully walked over to Beo, with a knowing expression plastered on his face. “Hey, uh, I might have some useful information for you…” Cain said, the simple sentence causing Beo’s entire demeanor to change in a flash. It was definitely too late now! But, oh well.
“Do you, now?” Beo said, putting a hand to his chin, as Rocky ran back into the room with a bowl of pretzels. Cain thought about how difficult it was going to be, distracting Rocky for such a long time. “Rocky, did you see there’s a massive sale at the plaza? The sporting good shop, in particular–” Rocky was gone before Beo could finish his sentence, and Cain sighed a little, having hoped it wasn’t actually THAT easy. “… Ahem, uh, I’d like to hear more about your useful information, Cain,” Beo said, bringing his attention back down to him. “But not here, it’s entirely too risky… Come,” He beckoned Cain to follow, exiting the home without skipping a beat. Cain hesitated for a brief moment, but he figured that NOT going would arouse unneeded suspicion, and Cain did not need that. Especially with the so-called leader of this strange group.
Beo had gotten into his car, the passenger side door open for Cain. This certainly screamed stranger danger, but, it was fine. All it was, was some huge, scary wolf man that was currently hunting him down without knowing it was, y’know, him. That thought, of course, did not comfort Cain in the slightest. His anxiety, steadily rising, as he entered the car. And shut the door. The drive was silent, for the most part, Cain tried speaking, but it seems Beo was a particularly paranoid person. As, he didn’t even believe that nobody wouldn’t hear them from within the car. No, they needed to be extra secluded.
Cain didn’t recognize the part of town they had entered, it was quite a nice neighborhood, very rich, very beige. Thinking about it now, isn’t this the part of town Cecelia lives in? It looks like her type of place. They still stay there for long, though, they went even further. Reaching some strange, nondescript white building. It was hard to make out what it actually was, a lab? An office building? He guessed that it’s plain exterior was to mask what was going on inside, though, he was slightly curious as to how they were trying to track him down.
Beo causally strolled up the stairway, Cain scrambling to follow behind. He had much smaller legs, he was doing his very best. He noticed that you needed some special, high level key card to even enter the building, the glass doors giving way to a large, pristine lobby. There were various other monsters conversing, getting a snack from the vending machine, or just going about their day. They all seemed to straighten up when Beo entered, the atmosphere shifting ever so violently, from an average workspace to the employees acting like they were about to step on a landmine at any moment.
Despite the employee's nervous demeanor, Beo kept that jovial, grandpa persona, though Cain wasn’t entirely convinced. Cain had gotten a few odd stares, and overheard a few small murmurs, but, nobody dared to question Beo. The building was overlooking the ocean, giving a pleasant, albeit slightly scary, view. If you’re afraid of water, and tall heights, at least. Cain wasn’t sure where he stood after his experience with The Sea Devil, all he knew was, he really did NOT like feral sirens. Beo gestured to a fancy, glass elevator. One that led… Directly into the ocean. “… Uh?” Cain awkwardly muttered, looking down into the water. “It’s safe, trust me! I’ve used this thing more times than I can count,” He chuckled, attempting to reassure Cain by patting him on the back. It felt more like a battering ram, though, jeez.
