Stress, it was hard to get rid of. Cain had all the reason to be stressed, or antsy, or overwhelmed, what he had to do was not easy. But, he had to do it, if he wanted that strange man’s assistance. Today was another average day at school, Cain was planning on doing everything tomorrow, as that’s when he had the opportunity to actually speak to Beo and give him a little ‘hint’. As of now, Cain was forced to go through it all, he’d love to just, do it immediately. But, unfortunately, he would have to wait. School was like always, mundane, yet confusing. They don’t teach the same subjects as his own school, half of the time, so he has to drag along most days. He didn’t care too much about any lower grades, though, it’s not like it’d affect anything back home. After school, Cain didn’t want to go ‘home’, as that would just involve him sitting around until he crashed out at night. So, he decided to head back into the school, wanting to see if he’d be welcomed into any of the clubs at this time. There was one he had in mind, in particular, the movie club; they seemed like an interesting bunch, and Cain, more so, was curious less about the movies, and more about them.
After being shunned from the video game club and being bench pressed at the wrestling club, probably should have seen that coming, at least his back is cracked now, he was left with the movie club. I mean, there were a few other clubs left, that he didn’t check. But, Cain knew they’d be some of the most accepting. He walked up to the door, noticing the lights inside were dimly lit from the small window. Cain knocked, this time, not wanting to scare the daylights out of them. Although, despite the knock, he still heard a small screech from within.
That’s probably something he’s just going to have to get used it, these people seem to watch a lot of horror movies. The door peered open, that one strange black and white… Thing, peeking through the crack, before sliding the door fully open. “Oh, hello, Cain!” He said, tone lifting upon seeing someone they recognized. “Hey,” Cain replied, not… Actually knowing this guy's name. “I was wondering if I could you join you?” Cain said, getting an excited nod from the other guy. “Of course! Come on, in!”
Cain still hadn’t gotten used to his strange way of speaking, or the way he sounded in general. It sounded like he had a static overlay at all times, crackly and warped, and his voice sounded like a whisper, despite him talking like anybody else. He looked strange, as well, being devoid of color and almost resembling something human, but not enough to spark a sense of familiarity in Cain. He had a face that could stretch, warp, fitting any emotion he had to a tee.
Cain followed him inside, shutting the door behind him as he did, he didn’t want to be rude. He saw the other two, he was somewhat familiar with them, but he still didn’t know their names. “Hello!” The girl greeted, she still had that strange, drawn out, android like voice. And every sentence she made, it seemed like she was singing it. She had the same static distortion as the guy, except it wasn’t just her voice, it seemed to be on her body entirely. Like, she just waltzed out of one of the tapes they were watching. “Oh, I just feel fantastic! I’m so happy more people want to join!” She said, Cain awkwardly smiling in return. Thinking about it now, she also looked vaguely human, is this why most of the other monsters seemed uncomfortable with them? Sure, they were also ‘new’ species, but, Cain guessed the uncanny familiarity he was having had something to do with it.
Last, but not least, was that strange… thing, Cain honestly didn’t even know how to describe them. They were skeletal, in a way? Being colored an orangish red tone. They almost seemed to be made up of, like, tendrils? All wrapped together? Honestly, Cain wasn’t sure, they looked too alien for him. “Happy day, just as we finished our first movie,” Cain would say that they spoke the strangest, but it was actually the most normal, weirdly enough. It didn’t seem like they could speak at all, so they used a strange device that had that classic, albeit still uncanny, robot voice. Cain wasn’t sure how the device worked, it didn’t have anything to type out, but it seemed to work. “… You’re Gemini, right?” Cain asked, somewhat remembering the day he first saw them.
