To my readers,

Thank you so, so much for giving Vows of Marriage a chance. Thank you for being a part of Siddharth and Mira’s journey, for seeing them with all their flaws, and for loving them just as they are.

Since this was my first book, I know it wasn’t perfect or something that would leave you in absolute awe. If you've been with me since the beginning days of this story, you know how messy my writing was at the start. And especially those first 15 chapters! And yet, you stayed, even after witnessing my messy and worst writing moments. I’ll forever be grateful to you all for that.

And you know, when I first started writing the novel, I was reading books in which the female lead was abused by her own family, and without thinking much about it, I created the character of Mira, who was abused and neglected by her parents. Then Siddharth entered her life and saved her like a prince charming. But believe me, now that I'm rewriting the book, I'm hating myself for writing such stuff. I could have shown Mira as a neglected child, but abuse? What the fuck was I thinking when I wrote that about her parents coming to the Royal party and abusing her?! God, I'm so embarassed;) And also sorry that I made you all read those stuffs.

But now that I am becoming more mature, I've realized the need to change the plot. I want to write Mira as a neglected child and highlight the impact of mental abuse rather than focusing heavily on physical abuse. There might still be mentions of some physical abuse, but not to the extent that makes you question your author's sanity :)

I just want to tell a story that feels real and relatable.

Anyway, back to the point, thank you once again for staying with me from start to finish, and it’s because of you that I didn’t give up or settle for “good enough.” Thank youuu for making me a better writer.

Because of you all, I’ve had the chance to learn, unlearn, and keep learning so many things. But with the book getting more popular, there’s also a greater chance of plagiarism. And not to forget, one of the fanfic authors has already stolen the nickname I gave to Mira. Some authors truly have no shame.

So here’s just a request to those who think copying someone else’s book and calling it “inspiration” is cool. If you have a brain, please use it. If you don’t, please don’t insult someone else’s hard work.

Fun Facts

1. When I first started writing, I almost quit after chapter five. I thought I’d be done after writing sixteen chapters and would move on, but here we are, finishing the book together.

2. I was never going to write a royal romance. In fact, I hated desi romance! But my sister forced me to write one.

3. At first, I was going to make Siddharth’s father the villain. 😂 (Don’t ask me why.)

4. There was a time when I got obsessed with Arhaan and wanted to write his story, too. I even wrote plots, a dedication, and a blurb. But now, I’ve lost that inspiration.

5. Mira was never going to get pregnant after her first miscarriage. But I couldn’t be that cruel to my characters, so I gave Sid and Mira their happy ending.

Now that I’m bidding goodbye to Siddharth and Mira, it feels like I’m leaving a very important part of myself behind. It took me a year and a half to complete this book. I was so excited to finish it, but now that it’s done, I’m not as happy as I thought I’d be. I’m not excited to complete the book into which I poured my soul.

Siddharth and Mira felt like home, and now it feels like I’m leaving that home to start a new journey.

Thank you all for sticking with me on this journey. Even to the silent readers, thank you for giving my book a chance.

And just a small request, if any of you haven’t voted on the chapters, please do. It would mean a lot. Thank you!
