"You think I am an idiot?" Mira's narrowed eyes bore into me as we sat in our room. Our conversation focused on her upcoming fashion event. With the event just a week away, I'd been eager to offer some help but man, who even considers my opinion in this damn house.

"I don't think - I believe," I muttered, humorously, but soon Mira's gasp filled the room. She began to smack me with a pillow while I quickly grabbed it from her hand, avoiding her hits. "I'm only here to help you, dhadkan," I added with a mischievous grin.

Mira let out a melodious laugh that could easily rival the chimes of a music box, "Mr. Rajput," she said, her words delivered with a tinge of a sultry smile, "trailing kisses down my neck doesn't exactly count as help."

"But it loosened some of your earlier tension" I replied, my smile stretching from ear to ear.

Mira's cheeks turned pink as she tried to hide her expressions by huffing and continued examining her costume designs. "Thank You for your help, Mr. Rajput," she said but her tone lacked any kind of gratitude.

"You can thank me in other ways." I quipped with a smug grin but immediately regretted my words as Mira's expression turned deadly serious.

"Out," she hissed.

"W-Well, I was just trying to help you." I couldn't believe I'd let fear grip me like this. Who gets scared of their wife, after all?

"Siddharth," She commanded. "If you honestly want to help me then you better be out of my sight before I let out all my pent-up frustrations upon you and I am damn sure you won't like that," she spoke with an icy edge.

Man, she was looking damn beautiful when she gets angry.

I nervously shifted as she shot me that intense look. I know very well that if I speak one more word to tease her I would end up getting a silent treatment for a week.

Drawing in a deep breath, I summoned my most irresistible weapon. My lips curved into a mischievous, slightly exaggerated frown. "Love, I was merely trying to help you," I pouted, hoping to disarm her with humor as I closed the gap between us and took her in my arms.

We remained in each other's arms for a moment. My fingers delicately weaved through her hair as I let her shift closer to me.

"Find someone else to fool," she let out, her eyes dancing with amusement as we finally separated from our hug. "I won't be swayed by your sweet antics, husband," she retorted, rolling her eyes while I stretched a heartfelt smile at her exasperation.

I let out a chuckle and pressed a kiss on her temple to relax some of her stress.

Mira huffed out a heavy sigh before saying, "Sid, can you please go and grab me a coffee," as she again busied herself with paperwork.
