Chapter 3: Maria

To be honest, I'm not too sure why im crying. I know why I am, but I don't. I can hear Monet's gentle yet rushed knocks against the door, softly speaking to me as she tries to reassure me. "Pri, I'm so sorry Gwen said that. You know how she is, I would never do that to you, you're literally my best friend and I can't lose you cause of some stupid accusation she improved on the spot." She spoke, then hearing the door knob rattling a bit then slowly opening it to see me.

"I know how she is, I dont blame you. I know you better than I know anyone else, I believe you." I spoke up then hugging her on the floor out of an apology. "Wow. This is gonna do numbers." Jace spoke up as he was recording the entire thing, thinking it was funny. Monet gave him a cold stare as she got up, taking his camera and breaking it by throwing it on the floor."

"You're a jerk, Jace." Making a nasty remark as she walked past him and back into the living room. Gwen gave her a nasty look and spoke up, creating more drama. "You come back for more, Monet? Did you gaslight Priscilla into thinking you didnt do anything?" I overheard their conversation and went out towards the living room, but before I did, Jace stopped me and looked at me dead in the eyes.

"She's buying me a new damn camera" He spoke firmly towards me while pointing his finger at me, I can hear the anger in his voice. "I know, I'll pay for it, Jace." I said while giving him $5 to get a new one. The furious voices and voice cracks towards each other in the living room was getting chaotic.

"You really have a lot of shit to say, Gwen. Should I have to mention about you and Abel and how much your touching him and acting like a total pick me?" Monet mentions, then seeing me in the living room in the corner, then speaking up instantly. "Guys, I didnt come along just to hear you fight about whether or not your with my boyfriend. How about we all just calm down and talk it out, alright?" I knew it wasnt going to end well, but I have to give it a shot. I looked out the window to see the sun gone, replaced by the moon.

"Alright, you know what? Fine. Me and Abel are close friends, so I apologize if I'm playing around with my friend. And, I'm not a pick me, I am one of the guys but i support women too." Well who's gonna tell her? Monet gave her a nasty look and rolled her eyes at her fake statement and apologized for getting ahead of herself. "Was it that hard to just apologize?" I stated back at everyone, Jace looked at the mood of the room and spoke up with a smile, "Alright I don't know about you guys but I need to take a piss." He grabs his flashlight and heads outside, he could hear the low pattering footsteps behind him. The flashlight started going off and on, Jace sighed annoyingly and kept hitting the flashlight against his hand. "Come on, you dumb flashlight, start working!" The footsteps kept getting louder and louder til he finally looked behind him.

It was Abel holding some batteries in his hands, then backed up a bit once he saw Jace flinch. "Woah, woah dude. Chill it's just me, I saw your flashlight go off and on so I brought you some batteries." Abel spoke to him while laughing a bit, then handing him the batteries. "You scared the shit out of me. But thanks, man." Jace spoke up then patted his back. I wish I can say that was the only thing that happened to Jace that night. The batteries was all he needed that night.

"Alright, well be safe out here dude. I've heard some freaky shit happened here a few years back."

"You're just tryna scare me, Abil."

"No. I'm serious, stay safe." Abil replied before walking back to the cabin, Jace rolled his eyes, watching Abil walk back to the cabin with a glare. It wasn't long til midnight striked. We all sat in silence in the living room, waiting for Jace to come back, when we all heard the door knob rattling, it was Jace. "Sorry I took so long guys, it was urgent." Abil rolled his eyes while he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. The wind in the air was unsettling, I lost my breathe one random moment then caught it back. I noticed that Jace's leg started to shake when he sat down, then speaking in a suspenseful tone.
