One night, Niharika went out with friends to a party. It was a great venue that was full of energy. Laughter and music filled up the place. Niharika tried her best to have fun, but in her mind, she constantly thought of Abhimanyu. She sat in the midst of her excited friends dancing and making merry, lonely in a crowded space.

Friend: "Niharika, come dance with us!"

Niharika: "Maybe later. I just need a moment."

She went outside for some air. The cool night air helped to drive away her whirling thoughts in the head. She leaned onto the railing, gazed up at the star-studded night sky, lost in thought as she stared up at it, trying to think about Abhimanyu and what he was doing, if at all he used to remember her.

Niharika decided to leave early as the night got older. She didn't want to party anymore. Her friends noticed her mood and tried to cheer her up.

Friend: "Leaving so soon, Niharika?"

Niharika: "Yeah, I have an early morning tomorrow."

She went driving back home; the hum of the car engine drowned out her lost thoughts about Abhimanyu. The roads seemed unusually quiet, with little to no traffic. Niharika began replaying every single moment she spent with Abhimanyu, from first sight to just a few words exchanged.

Niharika (thought): *If only I had the guts to say it to him.

Her phone buzzed with a message from Inaya, asking if she had reached home safely. Her friend's concern made her smile, and Niharika typed that she was on her way. She turned the radio up, hoping the music would get her out of her thoughts.

After completing a few miles

She was driving and almost reached her place. She did not take note of the truck approaching from the other side at an intersection until it was too late. The crash was devastating—the crunching of metal and shattering of glass; Niharika's world went dark as she lost consciousness.
