After a month of intense training, Zariel successfully created his second aura circle. His progress was astonishing, advancing at lightning speed. Now, with the second circle completed, he had enough shadow mana to wield powerful magic, including the devastating shadow slash.
Zariel's method of using magic was unique. Unlike others who needed to cast spells, Zariel could use magic instinctively, thanks to his extensive experience from his past life. He could manipulate fire elements such as hellfire, fireballs, and infernos, and he could also control other elements like wind, earth, lightning, water, and, of course, shadow.
Every element Zariel used was infused with his shadow mana, transforming their appearance into beautiful yet ominous shadows. For instance, when he cast a lightning spell, the shadow mana would evolve it into shadow lightning. He could also use his former powers, such as shadow step, which allowed him to disappear into shadows, and shadow whispering, which enabled him to gather information from shadows. However, despite being able to use these abilities, his current amount of shadow mana limited their usage. He needed to become an eighth aura circle user to regain his prime power fully. His ultimate goal was to become a tenth aura circle user or higher to surpass his former self.
Despite his increasing power, Zariel faced another challenge. His sword couldn't withstand the immense power of the shadow mana he released when using shadow slash. He needed a weapon that could handle his unique energy.

One evening, after a grueling training session, Zariel sat in his dorm, examining his sword. The blade was starting to show signs of wear, unable to endure the strain of his shadow mana. "This won't do," he muttered. "I need a weapon that can handle my power."
The next day, Zariel sought out Instructor Althea. He found her in her study, surrounded by books and scrolls. "Instructor, I have a problem," he began, explaining his dilemma with the sword.
Althea listened thoughtfully. "I see. Your shadow mana is too powerful for a regular weapon. You need something special, forged to withstand and channel your unique energy."
"Do you know where I can find such a weapon?" Zariel asked.
Althea nodded. "There's a master blacksmith in the city of Aetheris, known for creating weapons that can endure immense magical power. His name is Tharion. I suggest you visit him."
Taking her advice to heart, Zariel decided to make the journey to Aetheris. He informed Lyra of his plans, and together, they prepared for the trip. The journey to the city was uneventful, but Zariel used the time to reflect on his training and his goals.
Upon arriving in Aetheris, Zariel and Lyra made their way to Tharion's forge. The blacksmith's shop was impressive, filled with various weapons and armor. Tharion himself was a burly man with a grizzled beard and sharp eyes that spoke of his vast experience.
"What can I do for you?" Tharion asked as they entered.
"I need a sword that can handle shadow mana," Zariel explained. "My current weapon can't withstand the power I channel through it."
Tharion studied Zariel for a moment, then nodded. "I've heard of shadow mana, but it's rare. Let me see your current weapon."
Zariel handed over his sword, and Tharion examined it carefully. "I see the problem. This sword wasn't made to endure such energy. But I can forge a weapon that can. It will take time and special materials."
"What materials do you need?" Zariel inquired.
Tharion listed a few rare items, including shadowsteel, a metal known for its ability to absorb and channel shadow energy. "You'll need to gather these materials. Once you have them, I can forge the weapon for you."
Zariel and Lyra set out to gather the required materials, facing numerous challenges along the way. They fought off dangerous beasts and navigated treacherous terrain, their determination unwavering. After several days, they returned to Tharion's forge with the materials in hand.
"Excellent," Tharion said, inspecting the items. "I'll start immediately. Come back in a week, and your weapon will be ready."
A week later, Zariel returned to the forge, eager to see the result. Tharion presented him with a beautifully crafted sword. The blade shimmered with a dark, almost ethereal glow, a testament to its ability to channel shadow mana.
"Try it out," Tharion urged.
Zariel took the sword and stepped outside. He swung it, releasing a powerful shadow slash. The blade handled the energy perfectly, the attack more potent than ever before. Zariel smiled, satisfied. "This is perfect. Thank you, Tharion."
With his new weapon in hand, Zariel felt more confident than ever. He returned to the academy, ready to continue his training and face any challenges that came his way. The journey to mastering his powers and surpassing his past self was far from over, but with each step, he was getting closer to his goal.
