The Underestimated
POV: BB
I scroll endlessly on Melony's Facebook. I am looking at all the cute pictures of her at the beach with Dani. Who the fuck is this chick? Does she think she can just come and steal Melony away from me? Ha! I have news for you newbie, wait until Dakota finds out about you.
Wow, I can't believe I actually want Dakota to come back. She'd go rabid over Dani. Where the hell is Dakota anyway?
"Bernida, stop! You are torturing yourself," Lesly forces me to put my phone down.
I sigh and look around Melony's house.
She dragged me along to feed the cat today that way we can snoop some more.
Melony is so distracted by Dani that she hasn't even noticed we have been here longer than necessary.
"I can't help it!" I say.
"I know, but we are not here for Dani, we are here for Dakota." Lesly gets to looking around.
"Dakota isn't here," I sigh and plop on the couch.
"Then where is she?" Lesly asks.
"I don't know! Maybe she really did go into hiding. She picked a hell of a time to disappear. Imagine her and Dani in the same room," I snort in amusement.
Lesly sighs and sits next to me.
"Melony wouldn't just drop Dakota," Lesly says sure of herself.
"Well, she did, clearly," I look back to my phone.
I click on Dani's page and scroll down; the girl likes to be on social media. Her first post goes back a few weeks and says trying social media again. Assholes get blocked.
"Look at this, in the where she lives section she put somewhere over the rainbow," I roll my eyes.
"Come on, let's look around," Lesly forces me to put my phone down.
I sigh but get up and look around.
Lesly takes the main bedroom and I start in the guest room. As usual, everything has been cleaned. I look around, only giving half the effort. That is until I see a speck of red sticking out from under the bed. I raise an eyebrow and look under, only to find an old crusty rose petal.
Yuck.
Don't tell me Mel and Dani have done it in here.
I shine the light under the bed but find nothing unusual.
Next, I head to the bathroom and plop down on the closed toilet with a sigh.
"You better be looking!" Lesly calls.
"I am!" I grumble before turning and looking into the trash can by the toilet, in it I find an empty can of spray tanner.
I scrunch my brows together in confusion. Why would Melony need a spray tan if she's going to the beach for a real tan? Not to mention she's never really been a spray tan kind of girl. Plus this shade is pretty dark for her.
Weird.
I decide to get serious and kneel down in front of the sink cabinet before opening it to inspect. All I see are pads, toilet paper, and makeup stuff.
"Lesly there is nothing here!" I complain.
"Keep looking!"
I huffed and was about to stand up when I noticed a brown stain on the ground by the sink. I try to rub it off but it doesn't budge. I turn on my phone flashlight and see the color matches Dani's skin tone and the spray tanner.
