My life had its new routine. Walking up, getting my old uniform on, my pill with breakfast, school, home to get changed into something more the real me, messaging with Ashlee, and sleeping. Outside of the day-to-day stuff, I was getting better with umpiring, I was getting higher u18 games each week and getting praise from the umpire coaches and coaches of the teams. I was still getting good marks in class, even better marks than last term in chemistry and maths.

Ashlee and I worked out the details for our next date, it was starting at the cinemas at 6:30 pm for the movie. It was an anime movie on limited cinematic release of one of Ashlee's favourite anime. It was a magical girl anime, but she said it had some dark themes and a tragic love story involving great sacrifice from many characters. I didn't know anything about it, but it sounded interesting. We decided to go to the steak house afterwards and wear smart casual.

That date night was great fun. We went to the movie theatre, which had seats that we could pull up the armrest in between us so we could snuggle up. The movie was really good, there were funny bits, scary bits, sad bits, and happy bits. We got closer at the scary parts, Ashlee cried at the sad parts, and I held her as she did. Maybe that's what will be different when my brain is on estrogen. We laughed together and kissed a couple of times with the ending being so good we were both tearing up and holding each other close. After the movie, we walked to the restaurant smiling, holding hands, and just enjoying each other's company.

"Wow that movie was great, I'm glad you suggested it."

"You're welcome, I'm glad you liked it. I guess this means that we need to watch the whole series now. I've got it to stream at home."

"Sounds good, definitely need to do that."

"Have you got your stuff ready for the ball yet?"

"Yeah, Mum took me to sort the suit out. We did it after school this week so it could have been worse. I'm hoping it will be fine, but I don't know how I'll go."

"I'm sure you will be fine, and you might enjoy yourself. You are going to look cute even without the great dress and you can even dance with your girlfriend," she said squeezing my hand to try to comfort me.

"That will probably be the best part. Does that mean you are okay with telling our friends? The ball is 3 weeks away."

"I am if you are. Shannon and Melissa will be fine, and the rest can wait until the ball."

"Sounds good to me. I'd be happy to tell people I have a beautiful girlfriend." I said with a smile.

"Okay so let's tell them Monday, no point in dragging it out."

"Great sounds good. Do you have your dress yet?"

"It's being altered to fit better so Mum's picking it up next week."

"Do you have a photo?"

"Yes, but you'll have to wait to see me in it, cutie." She had a cheeky grin when she said that. "You know, I've heard about an underage night at a club in the city in late August, I'm thinking we should go with the other girls and maybe some of the others from school. That way I can dance with my girlfriend in a pretty dress, even if it's a cocktail dress." She showed me the details on her phone.

"I don't know, won't I need ID to get in?"

"Probably but it's a queer-friendly club so that should be fine."

"I'll think about it. I'll see how I feel closer to the date. It's about 4 weeks after my next appointment."

"Oh, is that when you start on the next step of your hormones?"
