I woke up Monday morning on my own after Mum pulled the sheets off my bed. I got up, dressed, and went to the kitchen for breakfast.
"Mum, you need to stop doing that in the mornings."
"I've only got about 4 weeks to enjoy myself, I'll stop doing it if you get yourself up."
"Fine," I said setting the alarm on my phone.
Bel came out in her summer uniform with her jumper. Being yr. 12 we didn't have to wear our summer uniform again, so I was in the school pants, short sleeve shirt and leavers jumper instead of the horrible shorts, I hated the pants, but the shorts were worse. My sister didn't have her winter skirt and tights anymore, but she had to wear her dress, which was double buttoned down the front and had a light pleated knee-length skirt. She hated the dress; I could understand that for her, but I liked it the couple of times I tried it on in the past when I was home alone. I had a look at my phone and saw messages from Amy and Jamie wishing me luck today plus messages from the girls and Adam asking me if I was sure I wanted to start to come out today.
"Thank you for asking me but, I'm sure. I'll need to be out by graduation anyway, so I want to start today."
"Oh, I take it your shopping trip was successful?" Asked Shannon.
"Yes, I'll show you the dress at recess."
"Sounds good."
"You should see Ashlee's dress, it's amazing."
"You look great in yours too cutie."
I finished breakfast and then went to school. It was a very boring day. We got back our exams, and the teachers would go through the answers or allow us to go through them ourselves. When I got to drama, I asked the teacher if it was still okay for me to talk to small groups in the class today. She said yes, it would work with the lesson. We got our exams back and our feedback on our performance. We were able to spread around the classroom and work on whatever we wanted. I was really surprised with my marks. I got 60% odd for the written exam, which is about what I expected but the performance mark was 92%. The comments said that I did an excellent job overall and they had only some minor things to make it better. When I sat down with my friends, Erma came over and asked to join us.
"So, are you still planning on telling everyone today?"
"Yes, I'd appreciate you staying here, if you want."
"Of course. I'll go get Dani and ask her to join us too."
"Cool." I saw Ant looking our way, I waved at him to come over.
"Hi Joc, what's up?"
"I want to tell everyone in this class about myself today in small groups. I would appreciate you helping."
"Thanks for asking. I'm not sure what help I can be, but I'll do what I can."
"Honestly just being here to support us is more than enough." Just then Erma came back with Dani. "Although if you could ask Terry, Cal, and Alice to come over it would be a big help."
"And how do I do that?"
"I don't know, maybe say we're wanting their opinion on something to do with one of our monologues. It's not entirely wrong. You're great at improv, I know you'll think of something."
"Ok, I'll do what I can." He walked over to the three I asked him to.
"You know you don't need to flirt with him to get him to help," said Ashlee quietly.
"I'm not meaning to. Besides it's fun to watch him get flustered when he doesn't know how to act."
He came back with the other 3, and we all shifted slightly to make room. I was on one side of the circle, and they were on the other.
